2010 Mercedes C300 changing iPhone/iPod connection to an auxiliary connection

Changing the iPhone/iPod connection to an auxiliary port. The auxiliary connection is prewired from factory, you need to remove the right cover next to the glove compartment and locate the aux connection, just switch the connection or if you want both then you will need to drill a hole to place the aux connection.

Thanks so much for this fix! Aux cable hidden behind the panel just like you said! Hardest part was getting the panel off the side of the glove box. Saved us lots of money. Dealership told me there was no way to reverse the iPod interface. Wrong.

Thank you very much i was using a bluetooth device and it had a lot of distortion. After 5 years with my C350 i finally have an aux cord and it sounds great!!

Thanks for the great tip, I believe this option was not available when I did this since I tried to find adapters and could not not find anything, this option is $71 on Amazon though vs $8 bucks aux cable

You need to cut the wire out so you can pull the wire through the hole and then place the auxiliary.

my 2010 C300 model came from factory with ippo installed and the aux is there as well but the aux does not work.. already checked the cd button and there is not aux feature or option... how do I make it work

Hi there, I also got a Mercedes with the 30 pin iPod cable in the glovebox, and would like to connect a bluetooth adaptor to it. Was anyone successful doing that? I purchased a VMA3000A adapter, but the plug isn't the same :(

Hi, sorry I cannot tell if this is the case for the S400, if you are a handy person, it should not take you more than 10 minutes to take the outer panel out and find out.

Hi, I cut the cable off and only connected the aux cable. That’s all you need.

+Haroon Latifi safe it is, but very stupid IMO when you know how much an iPod kit for Mercedes costs... I'd suggest to force install the auxiliary plug alongwith the iPod cable instead.

+Jason W sorry for the confusing wording. Pretty much I have an adapter to the new iPhone and use that as the aux input. What I'm saying is that the aux port does no work. No audio, only works through the iPhone cable
