for any one doing a new/same bike. rear sprocket is 43.5 front sprocket is 83 ft/lbs speed sensor is 18 rear axle nut is 72.5 and the case nuts are a whole lot of 7 so 10 ft/lbs DO NOT use the blue locktite (222) on your front spocket unless it is the high temp one BTW or follow the locktite application instructions which will get you to the correct thread locker

for 520 conversion, do NOT put back the washer between the front sprocket and the nut. Ended up pushing the speed sensor rotor against the cover and blew it up.
@Omega47
@Omega47 3 жыл бұрын
The sprocket is the same width in the center as factory. Plus the speed sensor reads via a probe floating over the sprocket. You may have had another issue.

@@emberoze not really. The Vortex front sprocket I used had a lip that took the space of the washer so you are supposed to tighten the nut against the sprocket directly. 10,000 miles later and have not had any problems.

You will love it, never going back. Changed the character of the bike completely. No low end to mid range change over. You know what I mean, around 7k rpm you feel the power band change. No more of that since the rpms are higher per gear. Only disadvantage is higher rpm per cruising speed. Worth it though.

You extension and torque effect is inaccurate BTW. The extension doesnt affect the torque as long as its in a linear direction of the socket hex. It doesnt matter if its a 2" or 12" extension. Just always make sure to torque at a 90 degree angle and you will have no issues. And I know a lot of people will double click their torque wrenches as a habit. Probably from seeing other people do it. But id also advise not doing that. Ensure you achieve correct torque and when it clicks, leave it. That second click is over torqueing it every time. Another tid bit of information: The factory doesnt use loctite because if you look at the end of the nut on the sprocket (front and rear) you will notice a metal locking blade at the end. This locks the nut in place. I still use loctite however. Also, When youre breaking the nut loose at the front sprocket, place a block of wood in between the rear wheel spokes, i press the rear brake as well. You dont want all that breaking torque on your output shaft. Its putting excessive force on the transmission. And tbh its too much to risk for me. So i place a block of wood as a secondary safety measure while tightening and loosening the locknut. (Looks like you actually added the block of wood when tightening it. )

Hey man, I got a question. I replaced my front sprocket. Did pretty much the same thing you did. When I put the front sprocket cover back on, the rear wheel will not turn freely (it takes a lot of force to turn it). When I take the cover back off, it turns freely.
