2011 FORD ecoboost 7 year review. I fix the rear tailgate badge that delaminated. I give my thoughts on this vehicle's gas mileage, engine, and other little things.

Got a 2011 XLT new with the 5.0. Just about 75k miles with no real issues except for the emblem like yours and the third brake light leaked. Only go to the dealer for recalls and "the works" packages. Can't beat the $25 oil change and tire rotations.

After about 7 years of research, I bought a 2015 F150 3.5 Ecoboost, love it! SuperCrew, 4x4, comes when I call it. I know of 3 2011 Ecoboosts, one over 365,000 miles, one over 335,000 miles, one over 265,000 miles, no issues at all, just regular maintenance. Mine has been driven about 35% city, 45% highway and 20% towing and getting 19.3 mpg average. I happy. And powaaaa!!! Whew, it's great. I tested every full size truck except Nissan. Tried to buy Tundra, but man, I could hardly get into the thing! I'm 6'2" 225 pounds, but had to bend my neck so much to get in, and just not same quality feel as F150. Plus terrible mpg on those trucks.

I would recommend putting 2-3 layers of masking tape surrounding any job like this. Sure it takes 2 to 3 minutes extra for the tape but how long is it going to take you to fix a scratch or chip that the emblem don't cover? Those wheels work great on decals and pin stripes too. "Goof Off" brand adhesive remover would have worked on that adhesive too.

I have the same truck with the preferred equip package. Also, I have replaced the blend door actuator, changed the plugs , had a rock punch through my radiator but no issues with the motor or anything else. Change oil every 5k at dealer with motorcraft synthetic then put 8 oz's of Prolong Engine Treatment. Has about 140k miles still runs like day one.

I'll be purchasing a new truck next year & the front-runner is a Tundra. My last two Ford trucks seemed to have continuous nickel & dime problems that never occurred in my Toyota trucks. In the last few years, my company vehicle was an Explorer and more recently a Tahoe and both of these vehicles had a multiple issues. However, the jury is still out. Sláinte

Thanks for the rubber wheel tip. Never knew they existed... I own Ford stock and have rode it down thinking that it will come back some day. Now I think I'll sell it and eat the loss :) I guess there is some arrogance that comes with the best selling truck. I bought a new 2001 Toyota Tundra and in 17 years, other than regular maintenance, the only things that have gone wrong is the O2 sensor ($200 at my local shop to replace) and the plastic latches for the extended cab windows broke. I found metal parts to replace it with on Amazon for about $15. This has been the best car I've ever owned. I want a new car, but how do you give up something so reliable? My next car will be a van so I can hit the road like you...thats how I found these vanlife channels on KZfaq.

Good video. MPG is determined by how you drive. Plus the automaker's don't determined the mpg the EPA does. 17/22 is a regular cab 2 wheel drive EcoBoost not a crew cab like yours. Yours would be 15/20 according to the EPA

Happy Father's Day! Let's see, rain 5 days in a year...no new commercial mower/brush hog for you! Hopefully a couple funny Father's Day cards though! ;) I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 that I bought new and farm life hasn't been kind to it. Nor was GM's foolish idea of having the 8 cylinder engine go down to 4 cyls in a feeble attempt to improve gas mileage. Instead, I had to have pistons and rings, plus the throttle body replaced (under warranty) before 100,000 miles, and after the 5 year mark, ( also a known problem not made known). So needless to say, GM doesn't make this economy "thing" anymore. I miss my Tundra, and prior to that my Tacoma! Great trucks!

Dude, you should have left it! It looked a million times better like that. Would look even better if you would have sprayed it with flat black, that's what I did with mine. Those ugly blue ovals stick out like a sore thumb! It did you a favor. Welcome to owning a Ford truck though, it's going to be a long, shitty road. I've learned from my mistake.. nothing but Toyota from now on after this pile of shit!
