@1bentley4ever Yeah, they were both owned by British Leyland & Ford Motor co.s & are now both owned by Tata so those 2 brands share a lot more than most people realize. A lot of people also dont know that Land Rover is basically the originator of the SUV, or at least of luxury SUVs & next to Jeep have been around the longest. & as you can see in this video, their off-road capabilities still set them apart from their current day competition.

rr sport handles prety nice and sticks to the road due to it's nice lower center of gravity i have the 2010 5.0 petrol, it sound so nice when accelerating throught 6000rpms whith the supercharger.

I have a 2006 HSE 4.4 and have none of the problems. Replaced a radiator and bumper after a tard on a moto hit it but thats it. Recently bought a 2012 4.4 diesel. I will be checking closely the function of the climate system. If you like I can relate my findings. This will be my 4th Range with no real problems, I hope... . My wife is Irish, Maybe ive got the luck... You certainly are being entertained by murphy himself. Peace.

@1bentley4ever This is my fav truck too! Its got the virtual instrument panel & same gear selector as the Jags, this is basically the equivalent to a Jag SUV. :)

hope the diesel reach Canada like the german vehicles here that have diesel engine option. LR should even bring the diesel for the LR2, their best selling vehicle here in Canada or for that matter in North America. if the diesel is as good as merc or bmw then it's gold!

@Waterglider I owned RR sport and now I have RR, I know what you are talking about, but I am not an idiot. I bought RRS in 2008, I had so many problems with suspension (DR System if you know), I had numerous problems with electronics. TDV8 was the only good thing about that car. Now I bought Range Rover 2007 TDV8, it is a completely different experience, a million times better car than Sport. I think Sport was done for fashion, but still there is a lot of space for improvement with RR.

I'll agree on torque but cooking oil? Mate this is not old merc 240d. This is hi-tech common rail engine wich needs clean fuel.

Land Rover is brilliant in making this engine, they are blatant morons for not bringing it over to the US. When you get more torque and about 12 miles MORE per gallon with the diesel, I see no reason why they should even manufacture the supercharged V8. I want torque and efficiency for my off road SUV, I'll get my horsepower fix with my Ferrari 458 and Porsche Turbo.

even today rr diesle engine still arn't as reliable as bmw and merc diesles, ma dad's cylender head gasket went at 12000 miles, it was still pretty new, less than a year old.(2007 3.6tdv8)

I have a 2010 range rover vogue overfinch it has been nothing but trouble from day one. The Auto Climate Control System will not work as stated in the owners manual its just rubbish and totally embracing to make matters worse it can not be rectified as all the new Range Rover built 2009 on are all the same. To make matters even worse Land Rover still make and sell the car to day this is what i would call misleading to say the least. I will add more information regarding all my problems soon.
