Ford Focus

Thanks for doing this video , my local ford dealer wanted £325 for doing this 😡.I have the same kit as you so i will be doing this job shortly £65 uk pound for genuine ford rear pads so they wanted £260 for labour .

I heard when you wind in the pistons, connect a tube + jar to bleed screw and open it. This captures excess brake fluid. Two reasons for this. 1. Stops overflow in master cylinder. 2. Stops risk of damaging seals in the master cylinder.

I normally just use a syringe and take some fluid out the master cylinder first .

I changed the pads and rotors on my 2017 focus ST I did everything like your video but now my rear passenger brake is sticking. I've jacked the car up and tried to spin the wheel with my hands and its very tough to spin compared to the rear driver wheel that i can spin easily with my bare hands. I have no idea what could have caused the rear passenger brake to become sticky. I've been told by a mechanic that what could have happened is that whenever you retract the piston without opening the bleed valve you could end up pushing back old dirty brake fluid back the opposite way but in your video and other peoples videos I dont see anyone open any bleed valves or anything I just see everyone simply retract the piston without touching anything else and thats exactly what i did too.

Are the rear brakes do you know disc or are they drum? I know the front are disc but I have a 2014 cord focus se sedan and I’m not sure if they are disc or drum but for some rotors it shows a need to know that but if info. Your response would really help and be appreciated if ya see this. -Paige

The ST trim has a disc rear. I don’t know about the other trim models.

The ST has only disc I the back, and the lower trims could have both, so you'll just have to check and see what you've got

What rotor cause we are having a hard time with this 2012 Ford focus SEL the oem rotor was sent by Ford does not fir the oem pad is laying half off the rotor and Ford dont have answers told me to pound sand practically

No, the rear wheels are free spinning But make sure it is in gear and chock the front tires when jacking up the car...and always use jack stands
