It has very nice VINYL interior, or as VW calls it, "leatherette". When a say nice, I mean nice. This is not the vinyl seats that were your mom and dads 1978 Chevy Monte Carlo. It looks and feels a lot like leather. The biggest difference is that it wears a lot better than leather. As long as you have heated seats, there isn't much to complain about. It doesn't seem to hear up and boil your skin off, like the old vinyl did either.

I have the same color, but fully loaded. I had 900 miles on it new. Now it's at 141,000 miles and counting. All I had to do was regular oil changes and transmission fuild change. Then replace the pcv diaphragm. It's still running strong.

I just had a spin with the exact same model. The interior looks a bit blank, but you could see it's well designed and put together, and it gets the job done, especially the small details. The throttle and brake feels a bit "sticky" (not sure if it's the right word), you gotta press them down a bit further in to see the effect. The steering wheel is a bit toward the heavy side, but I like it, it feels sturdy and make the driver feel confident. I'm gonna buy one of these, really nice car overall.

many cars are assembled there, that doesnt make them crap. It actually is a pretty nice car and even though the interior has cheapened out from the previous generations it still very solid and well put together

When the jetta is in regular D (drive) mode, the six gears are tuned for excellent fuel consumption (23-25 city 30-35 hwy). When you put the car in either the digital manual control or the sport automatic (both still 6 speed modes), the response is much much better. I have this jetta (with convenience package) and my brother has a 2006 nissan altima...When I put this baby in sport mode, I leave him in the dust. The 2.5 liter 5 cylinder engine puts out about 200 hp at 5500 rpm.

YES! thanks for mentioning it! I have an update on this car that i didnt upload becuase im not sure if i like it lol but I noticed that the first time I drove it. It's like you press it and it has like a 1 second delay for the car to react. I felt it because in my moms altima you just barely touch the gas and it goes. But after the little delay it drives normally!

I like the MKV gen better but honestly this is still a great car! You'll have no problems on your road trip in it too we've taken ours on tons of trips its actually going to DC for a wedding tomorrow!

Yea ive read about how VW lowered the quality a bit just to be more competitive with the rest of the market. I really like the car though, I now see why you and other people like VW so much! We hope we dont have any problems with it :)

Even in Sport mode I felt the Accelerations was still a bit lackluster. It wasnt bad but it wasnt as fast as I'd imagine it'd be.

Lol to me it doesnt look that big because im used to my mom's larger Altima :p but yea i was surprised to see that lock button in such an odd place lol I wouldnt wanna have little kids in the back seat playing with it.. And thanks man!

Haha yea I noticed that wayyy after I did this vid. I was checking out this car at the same time I recorded and when i felt it it felt soft touch. It is hard plastic but it is a very nice feeling plastic! I dont think it's bad at all, it's a nice car but the last gen was def better!

these cars lightly used (2-3 years old fewer than 50k miles) are relatively cheap I test drove a 2012 vw jetta 2.5 with 46k miles a few days ago thry were only asking 9500 for it

Yea you get used to it trust me. I only had it for 2 weeks and i was used to it already, granted i did drive it a couple thousand miles in those 2 weeks. And okay, ill see. I still have to edit it so maybe in a few days, so make sure you subscribe or you can go to my fb page and i might give my final opinion on it there lol

The dashboard is not soft touch... This interior is cheap compared to the Golf/GTI... I'm sorry but I hate this current generation Jetta lol
