Glad you are enjoying your new bike. Stock pipes sound fine, personally i am not into crazy loud pipes. Funny enough just put down a deposit for a new 2017 48 in a beautiful Candy black/gold flake. I did test ride one first and like you i am 5.6" tall and it was a quite a reach to the foot controls but not a deal breaker. Doubt i will move them back as super expensive to have done at HD. Thanks Sir.

Oooo, enjoy the Forty-eight! I really like the fat tires, and the styling, as well. I'm just not in love with that tiny tank. Have fun!

I can recommend Rush Slip-Ons with 2" baffles if you want a deep tone that doesn't hurt your ears. I also recommend using Red Line Heavy ShockProof in gearbox. Makes it it shift softer.

LOL - thanks for review. Killing it does happen to everyone. I've driven manual cars too and it's happened to me.

I enjoyed your video. I am between getting a Low Rider and a Fat Bob (probably Dynas to save some cash). I am 5 ft 7. I think you said you may get the reduced reach forward controls… do you need them at your height? How is the heat on your leg? Thanks!

From my time on my Fat Bob (at 5'6", 30" inseam) the reduced reach controls were absolutely worth it. Heat can be a bit much in the summer if you're caught in traffic, but it was never unbearable.

Nice review. I've had my eye on '13-'14 fat bobs and street bobs and have really started to do some calculations to decide whether I can afford to finance one or not. They go for pretty much the same price in my country, but I just can't decide which one would be better. I love the bobber style of street bob, but fat bob looks cool too and is probably more comfortable and "practical" too, or at least that's my impression. I test rode the new 2018 fat bob but I didn't like it. Older ones I haven't tried but maybe I'll have to book a test ride after winter :)

Good luck on finding your ideal bike! Hope you can find an older one to test. What country are you in?

I live in Finland so we have quite a short driving season, around 5 months from start of May to the end of September. Maybe longer if you like to wear a shit-ton of warm clothes and have heated grips :) That's one of the reasons I haven't bought a Harley yet, 'cause it is quite a lot of money, but then again motorcycling is a passion and a hobby so we'll see :)

Cool! Greetings from the US! Five months is not enough! I'll ride in adverse conditions to an extent, but don't have heated grips or heated clothes. Hope you have shorter winter!

Yeah, I'd love to live in Cali with sunshine all year round! Here even the summers are a bit "meh", with last summer's average day temperature of about +18-21C (roughly 64-69F). And day temperatures in May and September vary usual between +8C and +12C. So all in all, you really need to love riding in these conditions :)

Thanks for a review! I've bought my first HD, orange fat bob 2011 on a copart with minor damage and waiting it comes through half of the world to me. so I'm trying to find any info about it)) Generally it looks like brother of my Marauder, but with bigger hart) I'm curious how easy to overheat it(if you are riding full throttle - stop and again)?

Heat during the summer can get uncomfortable when you're in traffic, or in the city with lots of stoplights. But, I'd never say it was unbearable. Pretty much what you'd expect from an air-cooled big twin. ✌🏽

@@thatoneguymoto My overheated parts is not a big problem. On my channel you can see how i will use it. So it would be much harder for the bike than most situation of normal use in city. now i'm thinking about possibility of installing oil radiator, but feedback in internet differs from one to another...

I bought this Harley Davidson brand new I put 40,000 miles on it in two years It had alot of issues but all was covered on the two year warranty. I was on workers comp at the time . I put a dyno box on it and tuned it to more torque and horsepower I then had so much fun on it . I put chrome on it where ever I could put chrome on it. I turned it into the most beautiful 2013 fat Bob on the planet , And then a woman T boned me . It rolled 5 times , she knocked me off the bike EMMEDIATLY and I rolled atleast 10 Times . Please boys & girls if you ride keep your Dime from all other moving vehicles. Have fun on this bike it is so fun.

I hope da youph will finally kill off this noisy exhaust epidemic. Why being obnoxious is so popular in the US is mystifying. How well does your bike shift into neutral? Harley gearboxes usually balk when asked to take a rest. The newer ones seem better..not great, but better. Wondering if the older ones start working better with some miles on them.
@thatoneguymoto
@thatoneguymoto 6 жыл бұрын
My bike shifts to neutral pretty easily, and my previous two H-D's also were pretty easy. I did notice, though, on my 2003 883R, that it was a little harder, so I don't know if it's an age thing, or a model year thing. As for the exhaust, the rationale is that loud pipes get you noticed, thus safer, but for the deafening ones, that's definitely not the reason. I just like my bike to have a mean sound, without waking the neighbors. In California, we have noise emissions, so to stay legal, you pretty much have to stick to H-D brand stuff. Look forward to your feedback, once I get the Screamin' Eagles on there.
