Offered for sale is this immaculate example of the Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen, a 2013 TDI (Diesel) model in a very attractive color combination, and with only one prior owner and 113K highway miles. Emissions controversies aside, these are one of the finest offerings from VW in years, and remain highly sought after for their quality, performance, and incredible economy. Amenities include an incredibly economical 2.0 liter diesel engine with 6-speed dual clutch DSG automatic, the best cabin room in class, incredible fit and finish, Sirius/XM radio, Bluetooth, Power windows, locks, mirrors, Panoramic Moonroof, and much more. This car is like new, covered under the full balance of factory extended emissions/engine warranty, and is ready for use as a daily driver. This vehicle has been reflashed by VW and is in accordance with emissions laws. In every way, this vehicle could pass for one with less than 20K on the odometer.

Do you check tire pressure in cold weather? How fast do you drive? Traffic on hwy is really combined mpg. I have similar issue over wintertime bec of fluctuating temps and effects on tire pressure. Also are you always on highway at same speed or combination of local and hwy? Best I got was 52mpg hwy by myself, no AC and 43 mpg hwy when loaded with 4 passengers, luggage & constant AC use & 70-75 mph.

I just purchased a 2015 Golf Sportswagen TDI SE. Flew down to SFO to purchase it in Newark at great expense and will ship it up to Portland to avoid the egregiously high sales tax. Extended warranty to 2014 and 125K miles (current 30,001 miles). $17K plus $2900 for warranty extension. Let’s hope it’s not a lemon.

@@carlitos119199 Its been love hate so far. The driving position isn't the most comfortable to me given the bulge in the transmission tunnel where your knee goes. Its also going in to have its DPF replaced and maybe EGR, but that'll be covered under the extended warranty. The vehicle has a stiff ride as well when compared to a corolla or camry. I also replaced the rear shock absorbers. Take your time test driving. My car has a slight exhaust drone which is most likely due to a cracked dpf. Most of the expensive parts are covered by the extended warranty but read around the tdiclub.com forum.

2013 sportwagon are not 200 hp. They are a round 140 hp with 177-236 pounds of torque. Yep I love mine, great car, but the 6 speed mt is a lot funner and less costly than the constant dsg tranny maintenance. There are some things that are not as good on the mk6 as just say the beloved mk4 like fan reliability and I have had to replace both of them with the smaller one being replaced today sat. Not a hard fix but you do have to take off the skid plate and take the fan assembly out from the bottom of your car. The clutch sux and you will have flywill issues so you might as well go ahead and replace before you are left stranded. Lining on the door almost always loosen up and sag. Window actuators are a problem and have always been but at least the plastic good latch is gone. Your coolant system will eventually be replaced as vw uses plastic for some reason on there coolant system. Luckily tdi's now have extended warranty up to 120k and cover dpf, egr, turbo, block, fuel rail and system etc. These cars are great and peppy but they are not 200 hp stock period. With that said I strongly suggest you tune your VW if you were to get and I recommend Malone ad you will get about 20-30 more hp and 40-50 more torque with the stage 1 tuning. I also strongly suggest that you know what you are getting into in terms of vw because of all of the annoying little things that will make your life miserable if you don't know how to fix, know someone that can fix or have the money to pay to get fixed. They aren't Toyota or Honda and you get a VW because you love the car, brand, etc. If you can handle the petty bs then you will be golden for a long time. If not you will sell it as fast as a repair or maintenance is needed.

John Doe I’m on the verge of pulling the trigger on a manual tdi, what are the usual maintenance done on a diesel car? Never had experience with one.
@JohnDoeDeadhead420
@JohnDoeDeadhead420 5 жыл бұрын
@@bhadz100 dpf filter, glow plug, is really all of the overall maintenance that you will need besides typical VW stuff. Make sure that you get a manual with the car and follow the maintenance schedule. Also make sure that you look into the TDI extended warranty an extra 10 years 160 k warranty that covers about everything that could throw a code besides tranny and clutch. They don't have spark plugs so you don't have to worry about that abd depending on the year the timing belt is a must to do on all vw and I can say that my 13 sportwagon is recommended at 130k. The good thing about TDI is that you will have very few issues with them besides the flywill on the clutch, the two fans which isnt a hard fix or expensive if you don't know what you are doing. These tdis do have the Regen on the dpf filter and does get annoying that they do it to clean the fuel system every 300 miles or so. A good tune like malone or kerma goes along way with these cars especially after the recall fix where they basically detuned them and if you do tune you just need to remember to take the 15 mins to tune them back ti stock for warranty work. I'm at 85 k on my 13 and really havent done anything besides typical brakes, flywheel, and both fans. The dpf filter was replaced at recall and they do replace them at time of maintenance at VW along with egr valves. Def make sure that you get the 6 speed as the dfs can be faulty and expensive upkeep on that. Also beware of getting that beautiful big sunroof because you may run into leaking issues as many have. Just love the car if you get it but do get ready for little a petty things like door locks and latches and window issues which are usually actuator issues as most VW end up with these problems at some point. Also try to stay away from mk5 vw unless you get a really good deal because honestly they are ugly and hold no value other than tdi, gli, etc.

I don’t think 50 mpg is possible for the entire duration of the tank. I’ve gotten as high as 50 in my 2014 JSW TDI, but only for short periods of time. Based on a maximum range of 608 miles (per the manual) and a tank size of 14.5 gallons, the best mpg possible is about 42.

@@carlosloyola4585 a person is only afraid of losing there warranty if they can't do there own work which doesn't apply to me whatsoever. With that said there is no doubt that 99 percent of the people who own mk6 TDI are going to have there cars at the stealership replacing dpf filters as well as fixing egr's. My wife gsw is in the shop right now dealing with vw and the whole dpf on unknown backorder while I'm deleted on both egr and dpf and tuned and am not worrying about it on my jsw. @@JohnDoeDeadhead420 Hi John. So this is honestly my 1st MK6 SW TDI. I've always had WRXs or STIs. So I'm aware of tuning for better performance. I have been doing alot of research on these TDI's before purchasing one last weekend and they seem pretty bulletproof as long as maintenance is done on time...now, it seems like you'd recommend deleting the EGR & DPF to avoid the headache. Seems like a great option, but what happens when something goes wrong with the emissions like sensors, cat converter, etc (just had a CEL, came back with bad 02 sensors; fixed under warranty)...warranty won't touch it unless you put it back to stock. I'd like to do the de let's and get a stage 1 tune w/a DSG tune, but I'm very green when it comes to VW's.

I have a 2010 VW JSW TDI & this is the worst vehicle I've ever owned. In the one year of my current ownership the manifold has cracked & the throttle body had to be replaced (both covered under emissions warranty). What hasn't been covered is the radio dying, leaking sunroof drains due to terrible design of the fittings, & the electric sunroof shade jamming up & ripping it off the tracks. VW charges $800 to replaced the radio & $1500 to replace the shade. These JSW's are plagued with these issues & are well documented online & in forums. It's almost time to replace the timing belt along with the water pump. This is a dealership $1600 job.

TeenageShutdown01 Counterpoint: I owned a 2010 JSW TDI (6-spd) and it was unquestionably the BEST car I ever owned. I bought it new and drove it 110k miles with nothing more than a new battery, tires, and yes, the factory stereo died. Why would you pay $800 to replace that worthless thing anyway when you could put a nice aftermarket CarPlay unit in for half the price (like I did)? The VW buyback was a no-brainer for me but I missed that car so much that 2 years later I bought another (2013 model, picked it up yesterday). I love these cars.
