Changing out the OEM Stereo and installing a Pioneer 4100NEX 2Din. Went down to the Audio store to purchase a harness, which they say they have. But the guy said he don't recommend doing this at home because it might shut down the on-board computer if it don't interface with the built-in amp. Is it not as simple as plugging the harness in correctly and done? And they want $350.00 to install it.

+Dj Oneworld I haven't had the chance to install an aftermarket radio as of yet. I have no clue as to what is needed or what any issues my come up. Here at the dealership we deal with the OEM radios only. I wish I had more info for you but I don't want to give the wrong advise.

When I installed the 8.4 in my 2015 Jeep Cherokee the odometer started blinking and no sound out the front speakers also steering wheel controls not working

If the vehicle had a different size radio before then you have to have the sales codes updated by the dealer and downloaded back to the vehicle so that all the features will work. Currently the vehicle thinks the older radio is still in the vehicle so the new radio will not work correctly. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe

Are there any extra steps to replace the start stop button? Mine is pushed in and I ordered a new one. Can I reach thru the hole where the panel sat to unconnect the start stop and plug another one in or does another panel have to come off?

I'm in the process of waiting for a brand new OEM radio to come in so I can replace the one in my 2015 cherokee. Is there a procedure to reset the new one once you have it installed? I know I'll have to pair my cell phone again but I keep hearing that there's a certain procedure that needs to be done in order to reset it once it is installed. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Have you made a video about removing the 8.4 in screen from the Jeep Cherokee? I assume some of the initial steps would be the same but am wondering if screws are in same place, etc.

I havent made a video on the Cherokee with the 8.4 yet.....I stress yet lol. It should be about the same procedure. Make sure to subscribe Jon so that you will be informed when I do make a video about the 8.4 removal. I will certainly put it on my list of videos to make.

Everyone that I have seen does but if you dont have a back up camera (oem) then of course some sort of kit (if offered) would need to be installed.....its not just plug and play. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe.

+ali almesbah The upper cover on the shifter itself will pop off and unsnap. Once removed.....there is bolt that holds the rest of the shifter handle to the shaft. I recommend a plastic trim stick when trying to pop the upper cover free.

Faisal Alabdli Actually there is no button to turn the radio off. The radio controls more then just the audio....it controls the heater and a/c as well so it will never completely turn off. There volume knob can be depressed to mute the audio. Otherwise to answer your question...you will not be able to power down the radio completely

Great video. I have this same setup in my '14 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Quick couple of questions. Is it possible to upgrade from the 5.0 to one of the 8.4 OEM screens? Everything thing I am seeing in my research has the radio knobs on the same panel as the AC controls, but my radio knobs are exactly how you have it in this Jeep in the video - directly under their screen. Would I need to also order a new AC panel with radio knobs? Ideally, I'd like to upgrade to the 8.4AN RA4, but I would need the satellite/gps antenna and bezel. I'd also like the steering wheel volume controls. Am I SOL?

+David St. John Morning David. I have heard from a lot of people wanting to upgrade the radios to the 8.4 but personally haven't done it as of yet. I do know of a website that does a lot with these swaps and offers kits. If anyone knows for sure.....it would be them.
