This is a video I’m doing to help show how to replace a Fuel filter and also the fuel check valve hose assembly on my 2014 Harley Davidson Tri Glide.
If you get the “typical fuel leak” at the check valve, it is 99% most likely the O-ring that’s in the middle of the check valve. I DID replace it and it did not leak afterwards… BUT with a brand new paint job, and the other inner O-rings were also 10 years old… for me, this was the better solution because it was cheaper than buying the special tool to get to the top of the check valve O-Ring.
This gave me not only my personal experience on how easy it is to replace these… but knowing this is all new is great piece of mind knowing it’s all new parts and I expect to have many years to come and easy to replace in the future.
Here’s a link to the gas tank locking ring tool:

Definitely better than using a punch or screwdriver and tapping the locking ring and taking the chance to damage the paint…. This tool works fantastic!
Hope the video helps anyone doing this job and it’s relatively easy!!
