This video goes step by step explaining how to change pads and rotors on a 2014 IS350. This method will actually work for any IS from 2006 on. I am sure it will work on other models as well.

couple things to add. check brake fluid level and remove cap if really full, this will prevent brake fluid from spilling over. also, you can use a wire brush on the hub instead of sand paper and also inside the caliper to remove all the brake dust. lastly, cooper anti seize is better has the properties prevent it from breaking down less than the silver.

shit ton of anti-seize. Guess it doesnt matter unless it slings a drip on the rotor. I love how our caliper pistons seals can be replaced without removing the caliper. @@liangyaochen1073 you can sometimes see depending on the rim and angle, but to be sure, you have to take off the wheel. Also brake pads have a low pad sound. There is a tab that will rub against the rotor and make a screeching sound to warn you of low pad.

Ankur Patel get u the reason I ask is because my 2018 Lexus IS 300 has some noise sound from the right wheel when I drive it but my car just drove 14500miles and i am not sure if the pads wore off or not

@@liangyaochen1073 yea it's probably time. You should definitely change them. I don't know if you have a AutoZone in your area, but AutoZone offers lifetime warranty on brake pads when you buy from them. Once your pads wear out, you can take them back and get brand new ones for free.

Wouldn’t the rotors come off if you just hit them with a hammer even if it was rusted?
@ankurpatel8927
@ankurpatel8927 3 жыл бұрын
It's possible but it also depends on how rusted it is. I've have cars that no amount of pounding could get it off. The bolt makes it much easier.

it's cost me $500 just for the pad and rotor for the front wheel..i have 2016 IS350..why it worn out so fast..
@ankurpatel8927
@ankurpatel8927 6 жыл бұрын
Wow, you should have done it yourself. That's interesting they wore out that fast. It could be related to your driving habit, etc. Plus, dealers usually use lower quality pads.

U have the rotor going in the wrong direction. Says passengers side on the sticker on the hat of the rotor. The rotors are directional to push air out.
