Triumph's new and improved 2015 Tiger 800 XRx. The "roadie" now has traction control, fly by wire, and cruise control. 95 horse power makes for a ton of fun.

What a nice looking road to ride on, both scenic and winding. Thanks for the review.

I live in NYC but I grew up just "down the freeway" in San Jose. I have visited your Mountain View dealership. Good stuff, keep up the good work and videos.

Nice review and great skills. Still trying to decide if I can live without my Speed Triple and get the Tiger XRX, looking at the fun you can have I think I just might.

That looked a blast ! That engine is a peach eh?! Yeah the front suspension was the problem with mine and I'd have kept it if it wasn't for that. The bike is quick and nimble enough to entertain quick riders and so easy to ride in traffic too. Great all rounder!

The Crumble I'm so pleased that Tiger didn't work out for you;) Otherwise, you might not be back on that Red Devil!

I had a 2012 Tiger 800. It always seemed to be lacking front end feel and I lacked confidence in turns because of it, not to mention the Pirelli Scorpion Trail tires which suck. I rode the 2018 Tiger 800 XRT and it's totally different experience. The adjustable front suspension makes a big difference, but there are so many other improvements including far better tires, improved throttle mapping, fueling, and engine tweaks. And the TFT screen is fantastic! I think I may go back to having a Tiger 800 again soon.

What kind of fall was it?!..on the passanger sidepegs, that the bike was totalled?

Sweet bike, if it gets the good 40 to 50+ MPG on the fuelly.com they say, it's winner in my book, even though it's rated higher, 58 to 60+. Plus the bike makes from it's 799cc I-3 triple Claimed to 94 horsepower and 58 lb-ft of torque! Not bad and about perfect for fun. There seems to be distortion in the windscreen though, not sure I like that, but it looks better than the ST675 r bug eyes.

Have one myself as you can see, great bike, but I have to agree about the frame, shame it's in one piece. Accept that, I sure would recommend it! Stay safe you'all!!!
@aluisious9 жыл бұрын
The subframe welded passenger pegs, "a risk you have to take." Nah, there are other bikes in the world, as long as they want to make something that stupid, they can keep it.

Hello! Great video. Do you think the extras from XRx justify 1.3K€ over the XR? I will buy one this month and it's for urban riding only. Thanks!

2014 huh, thanks for the heads up, i really have no use for CC and TC, might as well save myself some money, currently looking at middleweight touring bikes: tiger, tracer or 2016 african twin

Love how cruise is coming to these smaller bikes. Wish the fly by wire mapping has been better over all the companies, but not the end of the world. Also yea, that subframe design is pretty terrible....but what u gonna do - that's why we have insurance, haha.

So question - saw you rode the Street Rx - how did you feel the screen and handguards affected your comfort levels and how did you feel about the bike compared to the Street?
@calmoto90739 жыл бұрын
YarekBalear Hand guards & screen are huge for cold weather comfort. The Tiger is a great "one bike does all"; that said, the Rx is way more fun.

if you had only one bike and could choose between the tiger 800xrx and the bonniville T120 which one would you choose?

I want a Bike I could go on long distance road trips with and drive casually in the summer, What would be your preference?
@MrJIMBOISAWESOME7 жыл бұрын
Joel Highway if u aren't looking to do any offroad then I'd suggest a sports tourer like a vfr800 or a gsx650f. Sports tourers are quicker than adventures but don't have the offroad capability
@calmoto90737 жыл бұрын
I think the Tiger with WP suspension is fantastic "do everything" motorcycle.
@mo1sturech1ef7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Very Much, I've been looking at a BMW R1200 Gs and i think that might just do the trick for the long distance trips, although it seems a little large for casual rides around the city.

Guess It's time for some more research and maybe a trip to the trader 8-)

I had the Tiger 1200 explorer and changed it to the Tiger 800 XRX. The XRX ticks all the boxes you mentioned. I toured Northern Spain and Portugal and the 800 will do it all, loaded with luggage and then light for around the city use. A great bike with a comfortable riding position.

Would have to agree the more I look at this bike the worst the frame looks, it has that unfinished look to it, or it needs to be covered by panyards, or just something ? Do like the motor power & it has a decent size fuel tank too, and the seat looks to be a good one, by shape & others comments. Not sure the non adjustable forks & shock are a big problem, that I would have to ride the different versions to know, but I would think more adjustability would be better. If I compare it to a Suzuki dl650 witch I do have is there any real benefit besides power, it does have a very high claimed MPG, but most of the bikes don't come even close to it when using fuelly for the averages. Triumphs webpage said it should get 77+ mpg @ 55 mph but most run in the mid 40+ average. on the other hand my DL650 get 60 to 64 mpg for real, yes it has less power, but does have better protection from the elements, maybe this bike is just not for me, yet ? BTW a good job on the bike... yl

@ 0:33 That frame should be in sections/parts. One unit? That's not good! Especially if you live in a big city, tip overs *will* happen. - Someone backs into/hits your bike when they park their car/bus/truck. - When you lose control of bike....oil slick, gravel, etc. - car turns in front of you. Etc., etc In my opinion, that's deal breaker for me, especially since the bike isn't cheap to begin with.

The 2014 is absolutely the way to go. CC & TC are not worth $4k to me. Plus, the cable throttle has a better feel.

Cal Moto Another question Cal, a second hand water cooled R1200GS TE or a brand new Tiger 800XRx with a few extras like heated grips and luggage? Similar amount of money around £10k.

***** I've not ridden the FJ; however I been exposed to a nasty accident on one that was the result of weak suspension and brakes. If you're a casual rider, you'll most likely like the Yamaha. I believe the Tiger is a better bike.
