I have a 2011 Traverse with 260k miles. Just got the traction control warning/reduce power, etc. also threw a P0221 code. Refers to throttle body. I replaced the throttle body 100k miles ago and its surprisingly easy. I saw other videos on P0221 saying the issue is wire harness/repin, but im thinking it will probably lead to an all new throttle body anyway. They are a bit pricey, i know, but cheaper than taking it to the dealer...labor alone would be more than a throttle body. Any opinions?

have you watched my 2015 chevy traverse video (repair reduced power) watch it and see if you have the same fuse box.

How did you narrow down this was the problem? I've changed my mark, purge valve, spark plugs, coil packs and it still showing codes and shaking on acceleration. I'm about to check the wiring under the vehicle.

Have you watched the other video about the problem with the fuse box? I have a little bit of time to help you out the next couple of days if you like. What codes come back after you clear them? When the light comes back on if it does is it flashing?

Does it go into limp home when it acts up? Does it run like crap and sometimes it runs good?

Have you ever come across a throttle body that only opens to 45 percent when pedal at 100 percent? If so, any recommended fixes? Thanks.

I’m assuming you are trying it key on engine off. About forty five or fifty percent in that situation is usually normal. What does it do engine on in gear driving down the road? Will it go full throttle?

Believe it or not… Check your battery. Those cars are very sensitive to low voltage.

Those cars have a fuse box plug that is not seated due to incorrect fuse box plug bolts check your and see if they tighten up and watch one of my other videos on the subject.

I’m hoping you could help me ‘15 traverse is getting a misfire under load but check engine doesn’t stay on it does have codes p050D p016A1 p0442 I replaced the purge canister new spark plugs cleaned throttle body still have those hard codes saved but no check engine light on and it misfires under load

This is going to sound strange but pull your under hood fuse box cover and see if the bolts are tight that pull the plugs up into the bottom of it. If they just spin reply me back.

If the car still jumps a bit what else could it be? It also starts jumping more when I have half tank gas or less

Can a bad throttle body give a misfire code? Or probably not?

A dirty throttle body can make the idle go low and make it feel like it’s missing. I haven’t seen a code set because of it. Is that the only code it has what are the short and long term fuel trims? Most of the time a bad throttle body will make the car die for no reason and or go reduced power. What is the car and engine size.

Looks like the different part numbers are just the different sized containers. We just always buy the larger ones. They are both number 3. What are you trying to seal.
