2015 Kia Pro Cee'd GT Review - Inside Lane

This handsome hatchback is the facelift 2015 Kia Pro Cee'd GT and it features some changes for this model year. Powered by a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine producing 201BHP, this "warm hatch" will get from 0-60MPH in 7.3 seconds and go onto a top speed of 143MPH. Good looks, strong design and buld quality, as well as a very competitive price means that this new Kia Pro Cee'd GT is a great package. Changes over the last car includes larger brakes and altered suspension.
This 2015 Kia Pro_Cee'd GT might not be the fastest in its class, but it is fantastic value for money.

How is your average fuel consumption? I'm very tempted to buy this car but the order takes 2 months, and the thing that scares me is that I won't be able to get an average below 15l/100 km (19 mpg)- city driving, weekend trips and some fun spirited driving whenever I can.

Got a black GT tech had it for a month and half and still love it to bits. To go from a 1.2 Corsa to this is awesome. It's comfortable and will pull when you want it to. Over the last 3 tanks of fuel I've averaged around 32mpg which isn't bad for it is and how I've driven it too 😊🤘🏾

Very interested in this sort of car. Did Kia fit a dual mass flywheel to improve cabin refinement, do you happen to know?

This new GT has some very nice upgrades. The steering wheel, the look on the TFT screen, bigger brakes. The wheels however are the same as used on the Koup Turbo here in Australia and are not in the same league as the original wheels. Less "fast/sporty" look. Great review though. Love my GT Tech.

+Colin W (Metragnome) Thank you! In the UK for 2015 they have dropped the GT Tech model and now only offer one trim level with everything. It is a good car and excellent value for money.

+Colin W (Metragnome) Hmmm, that is interesting. Not sure what the price difference is. Here it is £23,105 but it would be hard to work out the actual cost because of taxes.

really nice looking car, my parents just got the standard ceed 3 and im conisdering the pro ceed gt line, still not sure to go with the 1.0l eco turbo the 1.6 turbo diesel (same as in the ceed3)

+Chris Millar It depends what you use your car for most. If it is mainly motorway then I'd suggest the diesel, but if you are mainly around town with just short trips or occasionally on a motorway the 1.0 litre is a good option. I have a 1.0 litre Pro_Cee'd arriving on 23rd November and will do a video on it.

+Inside Lane it'll just be general driving tbh. so probably go with the wee 1.0l. but I'll probably go with what ever one is cheaper to insure lol

+Deadpool It is a great looking car. Wish I could have put more external footage in the video but our cameras decided to stop working. Unfortunately I don't think there are any plans to bring the Cee'd to America.

Inside Lane is the Forte5 the basic same as this? or is this car Fiesta sized?

+Deadpool I think they are built on the same platform, but the Forte is altered for US tastes. It is a Focus sized car. (C-Segment)

I doubt it with the Veloster T and the Forte5 sx being their main focus in the US right now. I would definitely pick this over a veloster though...LOVE the interior and it just looks so much more aggressive than the VT

+Beanjuice I totally agree ! WTF Kia ! THe forte 5 sx is nice, but this Kia has some additional sporty touches that would seem like an obvious fit for the forte 5 sx. Why are they holding out on us in the US ?

Yes, I agreed with you. I didn't know that there was a car like this out from kia. I just saw it on youtube today afternoon on a racetrack. Guessing that they kept it well hidden. Oh, well.

The cee'd GT has a "GT-Button" on the steering wheel. (3:05 in the video). Besides the mentioned display change, it also activates the "sound enhancer". When not in "GT mode" the car is substantially quieter from the inside.

It doesn't try to be a hot hatch. There is a growing market for these sorts of cars.

All they'd have to do is put thier 2.0 turbo under the hood, fit a limited slip differential, suspension tuning, off the shelf Brembo brakes, and you now have a very competitive hot hatch. Like Inside Line already said, it's not what Kia is after.
