2016 Accord EX + Tutorial

This tutorial goes over how to change all the settings on the 2016 Honda Accord EX and EX-L and most the settings on a Touring model. Some of these settings will apply to 2013-2017's as well.

Learn this While driving my 2016 Civic EX the parking brake engaged. The car is still under warranty so I took it to the Honda service department where I bought it. The only way to get rid of this extremely dangerous problem was to get rid of the car so I traded it in on an Accord with a mechanical parking brake. Honda corporation as expected refused me compensation. Do not trust them.

Very good tutorial. I have a 2016 accord ex-l in canada which i bought used in 2022. The previous owner only put 40,000km (25,000 miles) and its in great condition. I watched the whole video today after owning the car for about 3 weeks so far - it was very helpful to discover features like unlocking all doors with your key as well as leaving honda lane watch for 2 seconds extra after the right signal was disengaged. I'll see if there is another video from your channel covering this but how do you turn the digital speedometer (tachometer?) on in the 2016 ex-l models? I have seen another user post a video where they get it to turn on in kph (they're in the states so ideally would like mph but apparently wasnt offered) - and i would love to have it turned on. If you get a chance to read this, please know that videos like yours are a god send for any people who have recently purchased a honda car for the first time. Thanks

My 2016 Accord EX Sensing upper screen does not have (in any of the three optional screens) the compass that you show and talk about at 7:48. Is there a setting to make that triple option show that has the compass? Excellent walk through!!

Great detailed tutorial. One thing you didnt cover that still is confusing is the symbol on the trip meter I think where it shows the Rotate icon and next to it shows a Key symbol. Still dont know what that is for.

I believe what you are talking about is the current drive in the trip meter. This key and rotate sign means that every time you cycle the car on and off it'll reset. Hope that answers your question after 2 years of waiting, sorry

Any chance you can do a detailed CarPlay tutorial? I just found this channel and I am seriously considering an Accord EX with Honda Sensing or a Civic EX-L w/ Honda Sensing...trying to decide which one is better for me. Thank you for the videos you have done so far.

I will try to get one posted this weekend. There are a few good ones already on KZfaq though. Also, I'm hoping to be able to continue with more tutorials with the rest of the brand. Both of those cars are nice, I really like the 16 Civic though, so if you don't need the extra room in the back, the civic would be my choice.

I don't know why, but my top screen doesn't have a compass. Went through all settings. Was that exclusive to the 16ex? I have a 17 ex. Any help is appreciated

Excellent review!! You mentioned you like the info screen (upper) with the compass. I would like that also but my EX only has the two view info option. How do I get to the 3view with compass?

What year is you Accord? I looked through my 16 Accord to see about changing this setting and couldn't find anything to change it. If yours isn't a 16 or newer you will not have this option :( If yours is a 16 or newer let me know and I will research some more.

I have a 2016 EX-L V6 that I purchased new, it will not alert me when I receive a text message even though my 2015 Sport did alert, read and send texts. I've been to the dealership twice for this issue and no one there seems to know how to set the '16 so that I can have it alert, read and send texts. Any ideas? Added note: I can make and receive phone calls, but no texts even if the vehicle is parked. Text is Enabled

If I remember correctly, I think with the introduction of android auto and carplay, you have to have it tethered with the cable. I could be wrong as it's been about 2 years since I have really messed with the Accord.

Should be in the middle compartment under your right arm rest or else in the hidden door on the bottom of the dash where there is the usb charger

This is the ex-l, not the ex because the ex doesn't have leather

My 2017 Honda is nothing but defects and problems. Dealer service is regrettable. Honda engineering and quality is a MYTH.

Why is the accord still using a 5 speed gearbox with SOHC engine. Seems dated.

The accord is using either the CVT or 6 speed gearbox in their trims. No Honda uses the 5 speed anymore (in the US)

I love hondas but my vision is not so great so the fact that the camera is all the way up there is upsetting. I have a civic 2013 lx and I hate how the camera is display is up there. The slightest cloud can impair my vision. If only Honda fixed that issue. My future car won't be a Honda due to that reason. I need the display in the middle please Honda.

In the new civic's the camera display is lower than that of the accords. I would say to check the civic out if you need the display lower. Thanks for watching!
