Those extended warranty companies are scams. In the fine print they basically make it so they can legally make excuses why they won't cover something. I purchased one for 2000 dollars from Alpha Warranty and they didn't cover anything.

Thanks for the good wishes. My road is now short but the painkillers are holding it in check for now. I wish I had longer but it seems not to be. The gods have seen fit to land me with some sort of brain problem as well as the throat tumour. I can think well enough mostly, although I have been losing words and getting a bit confused at times. I don't know you but I thank you for your thoughts and wishes. I am still here much to the surprise of many and intend to stay a bit longer if possible. I have a few things to check before I shuffle off and I intend to get them sorted while I have a chance. I don't know who you are but I thank you for your support. James.

what did u replace? mines having same issues

I replaced an abs sensor on the rear tire. Took it to auto zone and they checked it with the diagnostic computer and that's how I new which sensor to replace. Hope this helps and good luck

​@FordBossMe I did replace the hub assembly and it came with the new speed sensor and wiring. But the clip connector on the end that clips to the clip under the hood wouldn't snap in place as it was broken so I cut off the connector and twist tied and soldered the two wires in place of using connectors. Is this okay? Or should I replace the original connectors under the hood

Okay so if you have issues with the rear parking sensors you're going to have to have them diagnosed and it's not going to be just some quick tip over the Internet you're going to have to look through my videos at proximity sensors we're parking sensors and you're going to have to put yourself a little book together to try to figure out exactly what to do You're going to probably have to look for shaved wires in the rear look at the fuse box look at diagrams if you can find them on the Internet If you change just the sensor in the front it may not be just the sensor issue you might have to change the whole hub assembly

No these sensors won't make the rack go bad

Typically the reason the rack goes bad is because it itself has a problem or there's some kind of battery power or ground connection problem that you have to have somebody look at and diagnose

Possibly but I've always been able to just drive it afterwards and it resets on its own before I even make it out the garage door if it's just an ABS sensor

@@FordBossMe thank you, I've driven it 40 or so miles since replacement. May have gotten a faulty sensor in, also didn't go with the motorcraft one either

You need to pull up each sensor and drive and monitor the wheel speed sensors and you will see which one is bad that way

Thanks for the reply I’m sure your busy. Still learning the scan tool. So I did a full system scan with vehicle running and it popped up that both front left and right speed sensors faulty. Next I did the live data while driving around and it was showing the same speed readings for all wheels??? If both front speed sensors are bad then why would they give speed readings in live data mode?

I did notice a delay in the speed measurement reading of 1-2 seconds for the front left sensor but after that small delay it was reading the same info as the other 3 sensors.

Sorry one more question will the truck always throw a code on a code reader when ita plugged in? I have the ABS light and the traction light on and my console says service advance trac, hill climb assist fault and also steering assist fault service required. But not codes are showing up on the reader, should I try and find a different code reader or would that indicate a different problem with my truck?

Go find the video about replacing the fuse on the positive battery terminal.

So you may have more than one problem

This could be a number of things with the ABS system more than likely it has to be diagnosed the code need to be run

I don't know what that code means when you guys come here you should have the description of the code in your comment because we don't remember what each one of them mean and we're not always going to go back to our own manual and look them up for you, especially on Thanksgiving so you need to do your part and tell me what the code means
