4:58 - Yeah all ESEE knives have a lifetime warranty, not only that but it's 'no questions asked', meaning if you break the knife, even on purpose, they'll send you a new one. I'm not trying to sound like a salesman for them or nothin', but it's pretty dope.

NIce picks Tac. I like your choice of knife and shotgun, I have both the same, though my Mossberg 500 is different. I see a lot of preppers always say get either a .22 or a pistol but I agree with you, if you can only grab one gun a shotgun is about the most versatile and easy to get ammo for. 12 Gauge shot shells never seem to get all bought up.
@Shooter11B8 жыл бұрын
Tac, have you seen the caliber conversion kits for break open shotguns? They make them in a bunch of different lengths, all popular calibers and either rifled or smooth bore. For me the game getter would be a good double or even single barrel shottie with a conversion kit so I can fire 22lr, 22wmr, 38, 9mm, 45 acp etc. The other choices were spot on, with good tools that can't be replicated in the woods, your life gets so much simpler.
@toddklekotka33408 жыл бұрын
Awesome brother! I too have that same cook set, it works and thats what counts. I also agree about the choice picking the 12gauge. There isn't anything that a 12 gauge can't kill and you have a lot of versatility.
@danofiremano8 жыл бұрын
I 've had one of those Stanley cook sets for a few years now and I painted it from the bottom to about 3/4 up with that High Heat Grill spray paint & it's freaking awesome! It cleans up real easy. I like the Scatter gun idea too, I hunt deer with slugs and it works great. Laterz.

I would have a victorinox trekker because I have one in my pocket. It has a useful selection of tools. I have a lighter in my pocket. The big knife and the hatchet are big overlap. What wasn't mentioned was user sheath knife with a ~4 inch handle and a ~4 inch or slightly more blade. The BK-9 is shockingly still useable as a knife once you are used to it as are many 7 inch blades but most of these big chopper wood splitters are barely usable as a knife.

I have several guns which is valuable in my opinion and starting off with my 9mm Ruger, and ending with my 12 gauge pump shotgun. When it comes to knives I have so many (folding and full tang). When it comes to backpacks I have probably one of the best which I got through the local Army exchange and is military grade and waterproof. I have the Swedish Army firesteel which I keep in my backpack along with many items I can use if outdoors surviving in the forest.

good choices but would you not recommend the Gerber gator machete? you know because of the saw and the sheer power of it, not to mention how compact and mobile it is? either way good video :)
@PsylomeAlpha8 жыл бұрын
+BillComm it's flimsy. I've seen too many videos of those breaking or bending severely to trust them, and the steel they're made out of doesn't hold an edge well.
@davies36298 жыл бұрын
+PsylomeAlpha yea it's not the best piece of equipment but it's easy if you want a cheap knock around thing that's easily replaceable
@PsylomeAlpha8 жыл бұрын
BillComm yeah, but I'd suggest getting something nice for your main bug-out bag and throwing gators in with any bugout bag you might be putting elsewhere.
@davies36298 жыл бұрын
+PsylomeAlpha that's a good point of view, I just think that a gerber gator Jr is very compact and easy if you want something but don't mind damaging it, but they are very flimsily made.
@PsylomeAlpha8 жыл бұрын
BillComm they're probably okay for cross-country camping trips where you might find out you forgot it at a campsite five states to the west when you return home. I'd rather lose a thirty dollar machete or knife than one that cost me 200 dollars.

The only slight disagreement I have is on the Shotgun. Now if you are bugging in or are heading to a nearby place that you plan to do the same the I totally agree . However, If you are in a " It's time to blow this taco stand " and don't know Where , How long or the place may be.? ( Seeing the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia behind you I will guess you are in the southern states, Perhaps Appalachia.? ) I agree with the 10mm which will dust any predatorial animal in that region. But I would carry a 10/22 or .22 of your choosing simply due to the fact that if I have a pair of 511 Tactical Cargo pants on I can Easily fit 2,000 rounds in my pockets and jacket. Not to mention the report of a .22 is significantly less that that of any shotgun round so not to let everyone in the county know where you are. But I do love a Shotgun.

why dont you using multi tools? to my opinion its a must-have thing
@PsylomeAlpha8 жыл бұрын
+Or Itzhaki how many canned goods will you need in the woods? multi-tools are good to have, but if you expressly can only take ten things with you a multi-tool will just be taking up a spot for something more necessary since most of what a multitool can do can also be done with a knife. they're really designed more for EDC since someone going into the woods is better equipped if they bring dedicated tools instead of an all in one due to the fragility of multi-tools, and how you lose most of them if it breaks in the wrong way.
@tnh7238 жыл бұрын

Got to say verdict still out on 9 or 10 or 40 or 45 etc. the one thing about 10 i don't like is , not many carry a 10 so in shtf times if you can find ammo at all, 10 will be rare to acquire. But to each there own, shoot what you can hit with, bottom line they all can kill very well, don't buy a gun just because of power. I do agree on a shot gun, but i do not had my wife a 12 gauge a 410 gets the job done very well and she can hit .
@PsylomeAlpha8 жыл бұрын
+Gene Sauerbry didn't he state that this is less of a regional or global shtf supply bag, and more of a deep woods camping/pissed off a couple of mo-fos and need to lay low in an area where it'd be difficult for them to find you for a few months but the rest of the world is going fine bag? also, he didn't say not to have more, just that a handgun with some power and a decent magazine capacity, as well as a shotgun would be better than lugging around a brace of rifles of differing calibers. I'm just thinking about how much oil it'd take to keep a gun in good condition in the woods where _I_ live for a few months on end, and I can tell you now that you'd likely need to learn which local plants provide the most oil unless you wanted to lug more oil around with you than drinking water.
@crazyhorseranchaz8 жыл бұрын
Dont worry about oil, its every where, main thing is get ready, with what ever you can put together, just dont wait. Be ready if your able to drive, or stay, get your family , friends, group, allon the same page, so you all do the same thing, not running around like a chicken with his head cut off. And dont try to fight it alone, but if you must think like the first revalution, keep hidden, dont trust, pick your battles, Hit and Run!!!

You cant have a handgun in the woods in Canada, only at a shooting range. And a shotgun can only have 3 rounds in it, besides 1 in the chamber. So you better be a quick shot if you get attacked by a animal. You might also want to have a bag of greasy patato chips like regular lays. you can set them on fire easily with a fierro rod to start a fire, or you can just eat them.
