2017-2019 Honda CRV LED Headlight Upgrade

Күн бұрынThe 2017 2018 and 2019 Honda CRV LX EX and EX-L come with halogen projectors from the factory. A super easy upgrade is to convert them to a LED projector. If you want good results, watch this video and stick to my recommendations. If you go the cheap route with a budget LED bulb you are most likely going to regret it. Listed below are the recommended parts. The EMI noise suppressors I used in this video are no longer available, but I will link a comparable unit in my storefront link below.

Just installed last night. It took maybe 15 minutes to install and test. Literally plug and play. No interference on weak FM or AM stations either using the Joying radio. Fans are quiet too. I can just hear them.

CRV with LED headlight has low light performance. Can it be changed to better lighting? My one is a Honda CRV 2018 JDM version with LEDs. Thanks in advance.

hey just a quick question please, where would you stick the hanging wire leftover on the passenger side low beam where the radiator coolant is?

nobody shows doing this on the passenger side... Is the washer fluid tank something that must be removed to fit the bulb in? looks like it'll be too tight a fit to remove and install without moving it... Thanks

Yes. Same process. Football stadium lights when you need them. Great upgrade. High beam uses 9005

Do you have any dash lights that came on due to the led lights? I had this happen to my TL after installing leds in my headlights. I just picked up the same CRV and am worried of the same problem.

No. The CRV has no computer monitors for the headlights. No issues.

Thank you for an excellent video. I have a 2017 CR-V EX-L and commute to the office at 5:30 a.m. During the late fall, winter, and early spring months, I'm commuting in darkness and the halogen low beams aren't great for traveling country roads. I will check out the links your provided. What would you suggest to replace the high beam lights?

You can replace the high beam headlights with 9005 LED bulbs. I'd use the morimoto brand 9005 kit as well.

Weird. I got mine today. You see the little green piece on the stock connector. They don't work unless I remove them but it doesn't click together good with that. Suggestions?

The EMI filter was out of stock so I bought the ferrite chokes. Where do those get installed? On the LED wire or the car wiring harness? If it's the LED wire, is it closer to the LED itself or closer to the plug?

I would put them on both, but the car wiring is more important if you don't have enough.

@@JackofAllMasterofNone Just got mine installed. Pretty easily installation. I even installed the chokes as well. Quick question. What orientation are the LED bulbs supposed to be installed? The LED bulbs are "flat" and each flat side contains LEDs. Do the LEDs face 9 oclock/3 oclock or 12 oclock/6 oclock?

Why would u not endorse installing LED in a reflector housing ?

Because LEDs are not designed for reflectors, despite what some sellers may state on eBay and Amazon. Reflectors can not properly focus the light and you will blind oncoming traffic.

Morimoto brand. They use Philips lumileds Z ES chips I believe.

No. This should not affect the aim at all. Same cutoff as the halogen bulbs
