i agree except for the c dismount part, they're more injury-friendly and honestly i prefer to see a clean C dmt rather than a D+ dmt lacking height, form, etc.

@@singsongeric how many terribly executed double tucks did we see before? If you bring back the dismount CR, that's what we'll get, and I'd rather just have the variety. Plus it really is safer for the athletes - in 2021, Suni downgraded her dismount from a double tuck to a double full because of her injury, while adding an extra BHS to make up the difference. She said she never liked beam dismounts and she got fewer deductions, so why not? I think the real issue is the lack of higher valued dismounts - it's basically a double tuck, double pike, or 2.5 twist if you're a twister. Leanne Wong did a triple twist until her growth spurt, which was great to see, and appropriately valued, but the only other high value dismounts are the Patterson and tucked full in. The full in pike, bizarrely, has the same rating as the tuck, so we never see it. Equally bizarre is the double front rating as an F, below the full in (wtf??), and also not really eligible for CV. You also don't see any forward twisting dismounts, like the front 1.5 or 2/1, in part because it's harder to get the CV bonus, so if people really wanted diversity they should discuss upgrading those.

I also want to add the other group of BB dismounts you missed, which is those single salto gainer dismounts off the end (seem to be more popular in Europe and nowhere else). Considering they're relatively simple to do, and everyone pitches them slightly off to the side (ie. no real risk of hitting the beam with head or feet), I'm surprised it hasn't caught on like wild fire all over the world. That being said, I'm glad it's not more popular because I can live with a clean double full or a Rudi for the sake of variety, but nothing is more anti-climactic than a gainer layout BB dismount. Even with a full twist I feel very meh about it. I'd much rather they increase the value of something like Khorkina's gainer double full off the side where you can really generate momentum from a cartwheel and maybe even get CV, and they're kinda interesting.

@@leykimayri at the time they grab the bar, the skill ends, and now half turn at that point, they are cheating and wanting to use the momentum when they twist their hands to connect to other skills

I agree completely, they're the one skill Simone does a lot that I just can't stand, even when it's perfect. I'm so glad we won't be seeing them as much.

Sheep jump was downgraded from D because there were many gymnasts doing it terribly and getting credit (see Claudia Fragapane for example). Rather than teaching their judges how to take proper deductions for it (as they do for ring leaps) FIG just downgraded it which is the lazy approach

Probably because almost every gymnast had it in their routine and it's not a huge jump in difficulty in comparison to the straddled version. Don't know why the layout version was lowered before though. Hardly anyone has done it

Well, it's that a lot of gymnasts can't really do them all that well. Their arms flail around and when done on the balance beam, they look like they're about to fall off. It's very rare to find gymnasts who can do them well. Plus repetitiveness since so many do them.

What the other commented said^^ plus I don't know if you've seen a lot gymnasts do wolf turns and fall off beam or fall out of the turn but it happens a lot and is not pleasant to the eye. The wolf turn done to perfection and done at the right speed isn't all that bad. But some do it too fast to compensate for the difficulty (sorry Simone) and some do it too slow to where it looks like they're a toddler trying to walk. Shaky and fumbling with no balance.
