I visited Entegra headquarters and had the opportunity to drive Entegra's 2017 Cornerstone and simply stated, it incorporates a number of new design, tech and safety features that make this model impressive.
This video focuses on its new En-Telligent Collision Avoidance and Blind Spot Monitoring systems and includes on the road demonstrations. Comments are welcomed.
NOTE: This is not a dealer sales video and not a commercial.
There's more to this story located at www.Gadgetguru.com . I include opinions on whether you may want to consider this motorhome as your next coach. This story can be found at: www.gadgetguru.com/2017-entegr...

It is definitely a lot of coach for the money. Probably the best value in it's class.

I wonder if a deer strike (happens frequently around here) would put the animal inside the coach.

Thanks for the video. My question is whether the adaptive cruise will bring the coach to a stop(full-speed-range) or does it shut off at a certain speed? Do you know of any coaches that have adaptive cruise that are full-speed-range? Thanks!

hi guru, i was hoping that you ask entegra why they have so many problems and poor quality's well as when a customer has a problem they try not to deal with it?

I can tell you this and everyone else on position of the road, if you center yourself in any vehicle between two lines your position will always be okay...

I'm glad to see you are beginning to look at motorhomes that perhaps mere mortals can afford. I like the Entegra Cornerstone series at RV shows and it is nice to see them go beyond Mobile Eye for collision avoidance. I also cannot fathom how tire monitoring systems are not standard (they are in cars now). Still a little up there in price... Note: vlogger "Great Escape" has had nothing but trouble with his alignment on his Entegra (in shops at least 5-6 times as the alignment fails, making the vehicle stearing very sloppy and dangerous every 500 or so miles). Some very popular RV bloggers / vloggers (David Bott of outsideourbubble.com & Turttleherding as examples) landed on selecting Tiffin Alegro Bus models after their decisions to be full-timers and after owning other brands before. In the market "someday" I'd be curious what your thoughts are after visiting the Tiffin family, their factory, and experiencing their coaches. Their price point and overall build quality seem to be in a sweet spot. The hard part at that price point is cutting through manufacturer religion and loyalty to get the real scoop... Keep posting during your search/quest and pushing for RV driving training schools. 25+ years after my California Motorcycle Rider Safety course I drive all vehicles via SIPDE (search, identify, predict, determine, execute). Has allowed me to avoid a few accidents over the years. Worst case, is there a commercial bus driving school willing to tweak its curriculum for Class A RVs?

Thank You! Tiffin is on my list and I hope to visit them in the near future.

With all of these systems, and we all know that electronics are generally known to sometimes fail at some inopportune moment, are there any internal system checks systems that the drive can turn on during the trip to make sure that the systems are working?

That's a great question and hopefully someone will chime-in and provide input on how Spartan delivers error messages to the driver. I ended up purchasing a Prevost and during startup it goes through a systems check and displays errors on the Driver Information Display screen near the gauge cluster. It also delivers error information while driving. Fortunately, I don't have a lot of experience viewing errors! When it comes to systems such as Spartan's Collision Mitigation system and adaptive cruise control, these features are not promoted as autonomous driving and are enhancements that can make driving more pleasurable and, possibly safer. My bus has the Prevost Aware system, which is its version of adaptive cruise. I'll say it's my favorite driving feature of the bus. There's more on this feature in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7VxnbSetZ2Yknk.html

OK ... it's a nice coach. What about the steering?? There appears to be issues with the wheel alignment of the 2014 Entegra on the Spartan chassis causing a far amount of over steer. Are you satisfied on the short drive you took that this might not be an issue on the 2017??
@TheGadgetGuru
@TheGadgetGuru 8 жыл бұрын
+ka1133 I had no problems with the steering during my half hour drive. It stayed true and was easy to keep centered. As you can see, it made some tight right turns too. However, I don't think it exceeded 55 mph during this drive as it was more focused on the new En-Telligent systems.

+The Gadget Guru We will be taking delivery on a 17 Cornerstone in June. In reply to ka1133 question regarding steering issues on earlier models my in depth homework tells me it's a Spartan K2 Chassis intermittant problem which is found on the Anthem's and not the Cornerstone k3 chassis. Nice review and thanks.

looked like an awkward driving position for you Andy..think I would prefer the steering at a flatter angle and a bit closer to me, it looks like youre not properly sat in the seat rather you seem to be almost hunched over the wheel.
@TheGadgetGuru
@TheGadgetGuru 8 жыл бұрын
+R Bousfield It felt comfortable to me! Please note that I'm short and the seat was elevated all the way up and forward. I can see how the camera angles could make it look that way. But, just like a new car, most drivers start a bit closer and then later find that sweet spot of a seating position. I'm sure that with time, the position would become more relaxed.

You talk with your hands off the steering wheel often. Not advisable, especially when driving a new model for the 1st time.

not only that but looking at the passenger talking for seconds on end whike driving..... for someone as you state who is new to driving these coaches, not too bright. Easy to tell how you made the Entegra guy uncomfortable and the shortened 30 minute drive. Not very professional at all.
