Cant see what the complaints are about, this gearbox is Planetry, every tractor, log skidder these days has one, best transmission design around, all the older gearboxes are now stone age technology.

I like the old GM 3 speeds transmissions came with Caprice 350 cc and 305 cc engines ...brilliant / reliable transmissions

I've read that the 10 speed paddles respond instantly to user input. The 8 speed GM engineered one was very laggy. So I guess Ford did a much better job.

God Save America *It depends on the way it's Tuned. Chevy put it in their new ZL1 and it shifted brilliantly at The Ring in Full Auto mode.* *Look for the 2018 Mustang Debut at the Detroit Auto Show. Ford is putting their new 10 speed in it.*

Actually, the tuning does everything on it. Putting more gears is not that of a challenge. Its to tune it properly that is. Gm did an awesome job with that and have such a large experience with autos.

nah, new bmw's probably but the older ones (E46) im still driving that one with no a single problem and i can do all of the work my self, because they made them to be worked on by people at home. i also own a ford raptor (2017) and still haven't really had any major problems besides a sweaty rear diff and a new set of tires every 15.000 miles

Ditch this trans and make it a manual for those of us who are capable of pushing a clutch in while using our right arm to shift...my god! Can't anyone shift anymore?

GM's 8-speed is nothing to brag about. It's original GM engineered, not leased technology like most auto trans are. The 8-speed in a dodge challenger for example, which is excellent, is not dodge engineered. I've only heard good things about this 10-speed which Ford took engineering lead on.

Hahaha yeah no shit I have had a 2019 ford f150 xlt 5.0L v8 for about 3 months now and I think it drives like dogshit sounds like shit to that whine coming from under the truck when you are accelerating

The more gears you have potentially makes better use of the engines power and torque. For this I hope it's at least better than dodges 8-speed or ZF transmission. GM's 8 speed is not that good and Ford's 6-speed is a little worse than it.

it's only a controlled environment not clean room. i only see safety goggles and gloves being used by the technicians. for a complicated assembly and machinery, shouldn't it be free of dust and particles? technicians should be wearing full PPE.

that basically already exists it's a CVT transmission it basically has infinite gear ratios but reliability is questionable since there fairly new and use belts but stronger belts would help a lot

Garbage transmission, and every F150 owner, including myself knows it. 26,000 miles on my 2020 F150 and it's already back at the dealer for warranty repair, most likely getting the valve body replaced. The 10R80 is an over-engineered problem waiting to happen. You name it, it does it. Slipping, late shift, erratic shift, clunking during downshift, so much there's actually a class action lawsuit against Ford Motor Company regarding these transmissions. Ford Motor Company needs to face the facts that the 10R80 is just a poorly engineered, poorly manufactured piece of garbage. They don't need to redesign it. They need to scrap it altogether and come up with a more reliable transmission.

I've had Fords since 1986 put on 300,000 miles never a trans problem the people who have trouble with the trans can't shift for shit anyway or have lack of maintenance with the autos

+Peter R That was back then, now Ford and Getaz (or what ever the name is) makes horrible auto boxes which are not true auto's but semi automatic. These shit boxes are so sensitive that they are not fit for purpose.

+Tahir Rana just of of Curiosity, how old are you? and how many American cars have you owned.? I think if a person is under 35 they rely on the media for their opinions and not actual behind the wheel driving. Like I said I have thrashed on nothing but ford vehicles since 1985 when I was 26 and with proper maintenance a ford or any car with give dependable transportation as long as you service it.

+Peter R I have owned a Ford escort 1990 rs, Ford Orion mk3 gearbox odo fault, Ford Escort Mk1 no faults, Ford Transit 205 ( diesel and gearbox problems), Ford Galaxy (2011 )Gearbox fault major 3000 pounds repair bill, Ford Galaxy mk2 aircon fault, Ford Probe( engine and gearbox faults), Ford Granada no faults , Ford Capri no faults! Now drive Toyota's!
