They didnt lower the hp on the base model. The 120hp model is just a cheaper option and will only be 20k, the 172hp model is the same price as the 2017 model.

Hi, sorry to hear you didn't see what you were looking for. As far as the DS lineup goes, it's now dedicated to our youth segment only. The 450 DS which you're referring too hasn't been available for quite some time now.

Maybe because a 1000r engine with a lower gear ratio in the xmr will make you wheelie at every throttle push without the extra length. Just look at the 850 xmrs with the short wheelbase, even those have more than enough power to throw the front wheels up without any problem

Pineapples RL I can't even get my 16 xmr 1000r to wheelie. I don't think it would be that bad in a short wheel base. They make an XT 1000 shorty, why not an XMR? I sometimes regret not getting either a 1000r XT, or 850 xmr. Just couldn't beat the price on the 1000r XMR at the time.

I suppose they do have 1000r Renegades? But as far as Outlander XMR 1000r because it is still a utility quad they dont want the 1000r xmr to get on 2 wheels. I really do think the main thing is the clutching though. The xmr's have a higher clutch engagement rpm, so pairing the 1000r engine with a short wheel base and that higher clutch engagement, when you're at a standstill and the clutch kicks in you'd be on your tail before you know it. But i guess then theres guys that'll buy the 1000XT and put aftermarket clutching on them.

Pineapples RL I mean, give it a little throttle to engage the clutch. Just kinda dumb imo bc of people with no throttle control, they won't release one. I could drop clutches in it to get what I want but shouldn't have to. I just don't understand the people I talk to that say it'll wheelie on them if they aren't careful. I have to make mine wheelie, and it usually all depends on the soil. Some days the tires spin, others they bite, and I get the front end up no problem.
