The V7 is a bike that once you have one, you never want to not have one. I have had many bikes in my life, fast ones, slow ones, expensive ones and cheap ones, none of them were ever keepers, yet my V7 will always be mine. I took it around Europe in 2013, took it around Brands Hatch GP in 2014 (even overtook a Fireblade and an RGV250!) :D I've since massively customized it to make it truly mine. I love it.

I saw you had one, I can certainly see the appeal with them. Few choice mods and it would be a fantastic bike personalized bike. I could be tempted myself one day you know..

I really wish they had a big block version of it to give it that bit extra grunt and poke, although even with the 48bhp my one had (even less probs with the cans I fitted lol) it still hustles along at a nice rate. I think you'd miss the power of you Duke/Blade if you went for a V7 as an only bike, but as a sunny Sunday bike the V7 is a lot of fun! :-)

These bikes flick through corners so well because the bike swivels round the crankshaft on the mainbearings rather than fighting with the gyroscopic force of transverse engines. Also the crank is more or less on the same plane as the wheel spindles. perfect.

Great review you lucky bugger what a gig, being a bit of a Guzzi nerd can I correct you on the history bit, the V7 of the 70s was the big block engine ( that eventually ended up as 1100 in the Griso) what is in the modern V7 is based on the small block that started life as the 350 then grew to the 500 and now the 750s (and the 850 in the bobber/roamer) told you I was a nerd. Loved your review tho and you "get " the Guzzi thing its not all Hipsters or old blokes smelling of wee (well it is a bit) its style and history 👍

Very nicely done sir. Quite a pleasant view. Must commend you on your consistent enthusiasm for the bikes as they are, not a snark-fest as are so many others. Tough gig, there, having to go to Italy in the winter and ride new Guzzis from the lake to the mountains. You're a good man for taking on such hardships.

I just gave a down payment for the special. Not a special edition, the special lol! I currently drive a scooter and looking around I found a very striking deal for Aprilia Shiver 900. Went to check it up but though she was gorgeous and flawless (it was a used model with 3000 miles) It wasn't me. It saddens me to admit it because she was such a beauty! The engine was a bit more than I felt I could handle but mainly the pegs where so far to the back and high for me! I checked the V7 III, that I was also having in mind and she was "the one". Got the demo bike for 1100€ less than the normal price, plus the taxes I got spared from buying it brand new, I came out the store with 1200€+ in my pocket. I hope no "lunatics" are picking a moto guzzi for a test ride lol! She is with 730km on the clock and not matter what she is mine now and she will be protected from any further potential abuse lol! Black glossy, chromed and clean! Loving her! Not to forget that your review was very inspiring, knowing that you re more of an enthusiast that likes fast bikes and the thrills they re offering and still you found her to be a well rounded and good bike. It was also great to watch, you do have a very distinctive way to do a review and I keep revisiting it, thank you m8!

So .. you got the V7 III Classic? The Stone is all matte, no chrome or stainless. I got the Classic model because I love the classy old-school styling : ) You're gunna fall in love with your new motorcycle! It's not the fastest machine on the road, you know? But it's more about sitting on or just over the highway speed limit all day long with the best handling and comfort (much like the R80 BMW), and doing it with a whole lot of class. Take care and have fun. Sincerely yours, Guzzi Gal : )
@nestorasbellas6604

@@j.whiteoak6408 Hey, we call it "special", but yep, its more classic than the "Stone" version. Glossy paint, chrome and spoked wheels, longer front fender. I fell in love already! Having her since October 3rd and already over 1200km on it! Took some leave to ride some more before winter (not that we stop riding here in Athens during winter, it is just mostly reduced to commuting, since with the mostly cloudy and cold days its hard to enjoy a ride as much)! You too enjoy your motorcycle, its a really unique machine this one! Very much pleased to see your message! Take care!

@j.whiteoak6408 5 жыл бұрын
@@nestorasbellas6604 I'm so glad you love your new baby .. It would be difficult not to! It gets my vote for best motorcycle in its class EVER! I've had 30-something bikes in almost 40 years (I got my first one the day I turned 17yo and every one of them has been a European m.c. I've kept several of the best for more than 30 years - two BMW's and a Guzzi LeMans MkII. I just can't part with them although it's time now because they're all worth a lot of money as they're all in Vintage class now, being 30+yo. They're all in perfect showroom condition with well under 10,000kms on them, and that's the whole point of keeping them like that:- they were all 'special', and they're now highly collectable machines. I always have an every day m.c, but now that I've officially reached my 'mid-50's' I need something easy, comfortable and reliable, but the V7 Classic is super-classy as well! : ) I'm still doing some serious solo miles on weekends and think nothing of 1400km-1800km trips to visit friends or to get to a m.c. rally, or just to blow out the cobwebs, so I honestly hope the V7 will be around for another 30yrs because this is my idea of the ultimate m.c. for me ... I can grow old disgracefully with that level of comfort and style, plus maintenence and cleaning is so simple for me to keep doing it myself : ) I'm going to be keeping my current V7 for "the stable" and buying another one next year for my every day ride and then update it to the newest model every 2-3 years until I simply cannot manage to swing a leg any more! I just wish I knew some other older women that were into m.c's but they all seem to hang up their jackets after only flirting with them for a while. More's the pity!! Thank for your kind reply and I hope you enjoy your V7 for many years to come ... there's something very special about a 'Special'. Take care!!

@@j.whiteoak6408 It's really good to hear you give such a vote of confidence to the V7 lll, Guzzi Gal, and especially so in that you've had some impressive bikes over the years. My winter bikes is an XS 650 Yamaha and I am hoping that thie V7 will have the same torque and be as good to live with . Thanks for your recommendation, I'll have one soon , and will report bacl . Regards to you too, Nestoras. Thers's no going back to scooters, we suspect..!

Owned 3 v7s, nice all around small bike, definitely needs a aftermarket fuel map, slow sluggish until u crank through gears, then it purs, 6 gallon tank caters to decent fuel range, good review , likes the scenery, reasonable priced, shaft drive, when u keep the revs up she rides fine, 30 mph and it percolates like a 2 stroke dirt bike, so a reflash would be beneficial, 20 more hp would help, agreed handling is fantastic. A modern bmw r75/6 airhead, with somewhat modern technology, nice bike to have if u plan on having more than one

I have to admit the ride looked pretty. But I am very lucky, I live in SE Ohio right along the Ohio river. There are many beautiful places to overlook the river if you know where they are. And I am just across the river from W.Va. where there re many pretty rides just waiting. And if I want to go over night the Blue Ridge Parkway isn't that far away. I thank God that I was born here and still live in this area. You don't have to travel the world to see God's beautiful creation... just look around... look beyond the man made stuff.

What was the red warning light that kept flashing on the first bike? Was thinking maybe a gear change indicator with having no rev counter but it didn't do it all the time so not so sure

Yeah it was gear change light, think it was set to runin revs as came on quite early

By default those lights blink at 4500 rpms, which is the max rpm recommended during break in. So he was reving the new bike up too high! :)

Should I get a Moto Guzzi V7 or an SV650?
@LambChopRides
@LambChopRides 6 жыл бұрын
Hard to say.. One is a real retro bike and the other a pretend one.. SV is faster and handles better and cheaper, but V7 has Moto Guzzi heritage and real 60's retro bike. Both great fun though I would recommend a test ride on both

Rev indicator meaning it's time to shift up, which this guy apparently doesn't...
@MrToonfish
@MrToonfish 5 жыл бұрын
@@dududuckling Yep, in the meantime I test drive this bike myself and I saw that shift light. I'm not used to it, I really think on the V7 III Carbon, they missed something with the dashboard, this bike is missing the rev counter for sure. It's nice to have the rev counter but also it adds to the look of the bike, with only the speedometer, the look is a little bit awkward I would say. I still have my Triumph Street Cup in the meantime, I can't really decide about the V7 III... To Guzzi or not to Guzzi, that's the question ! ;-)

@@Dave-sw2dm Agreed Dave. I loved this video, Most of us who go for V7lll will see this kind of ride through the hills on two wheels, close to nature, with lots of long curves and wiggles as just the kind of experience we long for, with a good chat with chums over lunch at a pub along the way. The commentary caught the spirit wonderfully , I felt. and said enough about the bike to convey all its character and performance
