Just for interested parties. I have a V9 Bobber sport. This review is very accurate. The V9 is a wonderful ride, great balance, brakes, gearbox, looks. Its very very rewarding and enjoyable place to be. No its NOT fast (in a sportsbike sense) but its fast enough to be fun and engaging and plenty fast enough to run with any traffic. It feels punchy. Its very well made and has proper heritage, which is nice. I can see why people get into Guzzi's and hang onto them. Do not expect to do a 20 min demo and fall in love, it takes a little while longer to just chill out a bit and THEN you get it. You enjoy the journey on one of these. IMHO. And thats high praise.

I feel like the wine analogy was way too long winded and not very personal since not everyone is a wine connoisseur or gone to France. When you got into the actual review of the bike the review is concise and you have a good voice for this

Great, then you got the point of this review and the point that Moto Guzzi is making with this bike. When riding this bike, the bike is not important, life is, and Moto Guzzi wants you to think about what's important in life and how one can enjoy life. That is the point to this bike. Simple, basic, mechanical, sit-back and enjoy.

Hey great review,that area of Germany looks beautiful,that Guzzi will be my next adventure ! Did you find the V9 more comfortable than the V7 l'm 6ft (1.85) l need comfort now in my older years .Once again great video

Thank you. Yes the V9 has more leg room so I'd take it over the V7.

Fantastic bike! You really nailed the spirit of two Moto Guzzi's you reviewed (V7 and this one). I've never ridden one, but somehow I pick up the same vibe about this bike. Wonder how would you feel about Honda cb1100...
@jfro58674 жыл бұрын
Hi, just spotted this. I have a V9 bobber now but have owned 2 x CB1100's. Both the RS and EX models. The cb is a lovely bike full stop. However, as you ask for differences. The V9 is a much lighter bike and feels more nimble in every situation really. It has a very different feel being a punchy twin over the four but is no less enjoyable. Both great looking, both well built. Shaft drive is a massive plus for me with a clean back end and perfect wheel alignment. The cb is more powerful but much abouve 60 mph its uncomfortable anyway so .....? Either are smashing bikes.
@fredforsythe8310 Жыл бұрын
I have owned both. I sold CB1100ex (great bike but heavy) Best summary I can make is the Honda is like a Swiss watch whilst the Guzzi is like a cement mixer. I much prefer the Guzzi. It's a keeper.

I'd like to thank you both of you guys, John B and Fred Forsythe for sharing your experience. It's best when you hear experience from someone who owned those bikes.

Thanks for the nice review (and culinary tips). I would love a Guzzi as my next bike (now on a BMW f800 GT), would it make a good commuter (a lot of filtering though traffic jams needed)?
@NothingToProve6 жыл бұрын
You're welcome MaartenBtns, This was one of those bikes that I really enjoyed riding and making a video about. With some bikes I force a smile and go through the motions but some bikes make you smile on the inside and out. This was one of those bikes that makes you smile, even several hours after you ride it. A good wine, some good food and a good bike, life is pretty much complete... Filtering through traffic...hmm...the V7 would be better at that, yes, the V9 can do it but the V9 is not as nimble as the V7. The V9 has wider handle bars and the feet are a little more forward for a more relaxed position and filtering is not ideal for the V9. But YES, you can do it on the V9! The V7 is the "city" bike and the V9 is the "country" bike. At least that was Moto Guzzi's intent for coming out with the V9 in 2016 and I kind of agree with them. But If I had to pick one bike, I'd take the V9 over the V7 even if I had to do city filtering. The V9 is that much more comfortable than the V7. Hope this helps!
@Gr1mSkull6 жыл бұрын
NothingToProve Thanks for the feedback! Would indeed prefer the V9, even though it would be a bit more challenging. Hope to be able to try one out myself in the near future. Keep up the nice reviews!

Arrrrrrgggg!!! now I'm even more confused , I love this bike and also love the Honda cb1100 . This motorcycle for me at my age is the perfect embodiment of what motorcycling should be about. Moto Guzzi have nailed it . One day the rest of the world with catch on but for now shhhhh!!!!.
@NothingToProve4 жыл бұрын
Yep, you get it, you understand, you have been enlightened. :) One day I will buy a V9 Bobber, in the steel blue color and not a V7, the V7 didn't fit my legs as well as the V9.

I watch all your reviews but this one is probably my favorite. I've watched it many time and your V7 review a few times. My first and current bike is a Kawasaki Verys. I'd like my next bike to be along the lines of Triumph T120, Roadmaster or this V9. Pros for the V9 are appearance, transverse twin, shaft driven, laid back, good brakes (singles ), relatively light for the class and a STEAL on the used market w/low miles or new 2017 and 2018 models still around. The T120 and Speedmaster Pros are strong and refined engine, GREAT brakes (dual discs up front), and good handling. The Italian Guzzi and the British are different but they both share modern refinement , a sport cruiser style....while retaining the old world charm of their respective countries. What do you personally think when deciding between the Motto Guzzi and Triumph if you lived inside an American city, commuted to the suburbs and when you could on the weekend headed for the country and mountains ? Thanks !
@NothingToProve3 жыл бұрын
Well, I have lived in the States for the first 40+ years of my life and which bike would depend on the local authorized dealer and if there was one. If both, then I'd take the Guzzi, a little more maintenance/repair but it's worth it for the looks and feel you get from riding one. The Guzzi just says: "relax, and let me do it all for you and sit back and enjoy the ride". :) Ride safe, Scott
