I just finished the 50 hour maintenance on my maveric. Went a little in depth, went back with amsol 10w40 for the engine, amsol 20w50 hydrogear for the drives and dropped the deck and spindles, cleaned the old grease out of the bearings and repacked with lucas wheel bearing grease, wire wheeled the deck and sprayed it down with sillicone oil and reinstalled everything. Ready for spring, IF will rain down here in South TX!

@Hank Hill I don't think it would hurt changing it a few hours early. I reused the same filter after washing the outer element and blowing out the inner element.

Good job on the video! It was very easy to follow. Had to laugh at the 15:40 mark when you cleaned the air filter in the sink (don't think my Mrs. would be cool with it). However, I cleaned it outside with Dawn and it came completely clean just like in your video. Keep up the good work!

You actually helped influence me to purchase my own Bad Boy mower which I picked up 4 days ago, I ended up getting the Bad Boy Rogue with the 72"deck. +Wayne How do you like that rogue? I currently have a Ferris with 61” deck. Thinking about switching to bad boy with 72” deck. Thinking about getting the renegade though. How much mowing do you do with your rogue? I have about 5 1/2 acres I mow

@@LifeUnderParProductions I love the rogue, it's like mowing my lawn in an easy chair. It's got great suspension plus I opted for the additional suspension seat. I have about 4 acres and it takes me under an hour and a half to mow. I think Bad Boy makes an outstanding machine.

@@LifeUnderParProductions That's great, I believe you will be more than happy going with the Bad Boy. I think for the acreage you are mowing the Rogue is also a good choice for you, unless you are looking specifically for the diesel. The Renegade usually runs at least $1,200->$1,500 more than the Rogue, and most likely(considering the coronavirus crap) you can talk em down a bit. The Rogue can mow at the same speed as the Renegade, but is a little less expensive. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best!

good video, i am doing the first oil change on my maverick today. you didnt reference how they tell you in the manual to fill the new filter with oil before installing it. something that i've never seen before, but it says it on the filter too. did you notice that?

Hey there Mr. South Coast! How have you been? I am home shopping online to replace my John Deere that just died on me. So I am using a push mower that is battery operated which is good for trimming, but not my 2+ acres. Haha. Would you purchase a Bad Boy again? I am now considering a MZ Magnum instead of the Maverick. I like the Maverick but for the cost I can’t justify jumping that high up. The Magnum looks good for my own 2+ acre country lawn. I just bought the same mower, the 60 inch deck and the Kohler confidant 747 cc 25 hp. I noticed mine doesn’t have the reservoirs for the Hydro units, I saw your other video where you had those, so I checked in they just don’t put them on the newer models, the same, but everything else looks about the same. On the blue pre-filter for your air filter, it should be oiled. You just put some clean motor oil on it and squeeze it out.

Total newbie owner here of a maverick / first zero turn mower. Why do you add all the new oil via the funnel and fill tube without adding some to the new oil filter first? I assume it’s to avoid the inevitable dumping of oil when you install the filter horizontally. I’m not criticizing; I legit don’t know. Thanks and great video!

That’s the main reason. You can put a bit in the filter to soak the filter element. In my experience, these small filters fill with oil quickly so there isn’t any real “oil starvation going on. I could be wrong here but that’s my current thought process.

Just had my 2021 Bad Boy Maverick 54" delivered today. I'll use your videos for the oil changes - good Job! I have two questions: When you mow, do you wear the seat belt, and are you wearing a dust mask? If so, what type of mask and can you please send link to your mask?

I generally do not wear my seat belt. Most of what I cut is flat open land, so I don't feel it is needed for me personally. That being said, don't take this as me suggesting you don't wear yours. You need to evaluate your own situation and conditions and make a decision from there. Also refer to the owners manual. When it is really dry and dusty I like to wear a fishing style face mask from Salt Armor. @@x52pbum77 It is just a run of the mill grease gun....I bought the lock-n-lube separately. Just give it a google and it should be pretty easy to find.
