I just finished a project for school where we tried out gouache for the first time. What we learnt: Easiest way to use is whit a little bit of water to mix it out and make it easier to work with. You don't have to use all the paint in one go, if it dries and you whish to use it, say a week later, just soften it up with water. Although it will turn into something that very alike watercolors. Gouache isn't as shiny as watercolor, it's this matte coat when it's dried. The colors change just a little when dried. They turn either lighter och darker, can't remember which one though. But they're really fun to illustrate and play around with.

just a tip: add some water to your paint till you get a whipping cream consistency. straight from the tube is wasteful, and difficult to work with. you can also add more water and use gouache like watercolor ✌✨

I finally found someone else who has grey as his/her fav "color"!! Grey is amazing. It can look cool but also clean and classy. It goes well with pretty much any color. And you can mix it with other colors to get a tinted grey. And yes people also laugh at me when I tell them grey is my fav color.

How is jenny so good at art?! Its making my mind like blow up. First of all,, shes so patient with the watercolour when painting the roses and even when she would mess up,, her art still looks good af!

Gouaghe is a sort of Watercolor. You have to use water with it but it is more opaque than normal Watercolor. I love what you made with it!!

It's the first time I've ever done a bullet journal, and like now I see yours, I'm like: Woah! So that's how bullet journals work- I've been doing it all wrong! I added extra things like birthday trackers, spending trackers, routine ideal days, and schedules so I'm really wowed. I also tried using a lined notebook just to see how it would work as a bullet journal.

a tip I learned in one of my art classes in highschool is to take your tape, measured out to whatever size you need for a border or whatever you need it for and put it on your pants/an article of clothing like youre linting them. the layer of lint on the tape helps it not stick as much to the paper so its easier to remove later on.

Some quick gouache tips, it’s actually fairly similar to watercolor on contents and use. The reason it was so thick was because it’s meant to be watered down, sorta like watercolor. It also won’t mess with your nice watercolor brushes, because it’s essentially water color with a higher pigment to binder ratio and possibly chalk added for a matte finish.

Gorgeous! I really love your set up. My husband found your voice really soothing... I agree 😊. I’m new to gouache as well, but I do have a little tip... you need to add a bit of water... that’s what gives it that creamy texture. They’re not meant to be used directly out of the tube because then they’re too thick and dry. Try some water and you’ll love them.

Suggestion, to make you gouache more like watercolor but kinda opaque, add water!!! Gouache is referred to as 'opaque watercolor' because of the way it reacts to water, allowing you to get amazing layering that can change opaqueness with how much water you add! As someone still testing how to use it myself I would definitely recommend continuing experimenting!
