I have to agree about the pickup, it's pretty good. No need to change it. It's amazing that you can buy a guitar like this and not need to do anything to it other than possibly set it up (or adjust the set up it comes with). If you're not a heavy tremolo user this is a great guitar, especially for gigging.

I think it is called "ruby red" in reference to ruby red grapefruit. It's exactly that color.

I've got the vintage white one and it is really great. The pickup sounds just right for heavier stuff from 80's hair metal acrobatics to sludgy Jerry Cantrell tones. The guitar itself holds tune very, very well, I just did not test the trem bar yet but I've got a feeling that it is not suitable for dive bombs. As for the softer tones, do not expect quacky strat sounds, this thing is a high powered rifle to take out rabid grizzly. Absolutely the best buy in this price range.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a rainy late afternoon hanging out with Eric at C.A. House Music and chatting about guitars, guitars, guitars. What a nice and down to Earth guy he is. With EVH's recent passing I have returned to the memories of my youth, playing my Kramer Baretta in my room and with my band, having so much fun. I tried one of these specials at the store and oh man, does this thing feel natural to hold in your hands, sounds killer with the stock humbucker. I played several guitars that day and it was one of my favorites. For the price, I don't think it get's any better.

Added a Floyd Rose Special and Kahler lock nut. Took it to a whole new level of cool!

It's true about the pickup in these things. I had a black/creme JB sitting in the drawer so I put it in during a string change and it made literally no difference to how the guitar sounds. I also have a Pacer Classic from 4-5 years ago and the stock pickups (I still have it, it's different than what comes in the Baretta) are really bad - switching to Duncans was a clear upgrade that time. Outrageous value for the money, I just wish they'd made it slightly more expensive and gave it a Floyd Special. Oh well, maybe next year.

I wish this had a neck pickup. Just makes sense for a huge difference in sounds for a small bit more in cost. Single pickup guitars are dumb. I know..I had the charvels in the eighties and as I got better I realized they were really limiting especially when playing different tasty leads...yes in metal. I got too end guitars and played this at a store the other day and it blew me away as to the action. Cheers.

Ruby Red will end up being a little on the pink side. Looks like Tomato Soup to me but it's not a straight red lol

the headstock paint almost loooks more pink than the body, which is weird, since its a solid paintjob and not transparent

Interesting not a person on here comment on how terrible the tuner is...I bought it but the damn thang doesn’t stay in tune. Already, locking tuner will be the first additional expense! Granted, it’s still a great axe for the price 👍

Looks like ruby red grapefruit. Darker than pink or salmon. RGB values around 255:55:85? Pull it into Photoshop and hit it with the eye dropper tool and it will give you exact RGB values. Great video. Thanks.

Just got the white one because I have a bunch of killer parts laying around like a 1980's Seymour Duncan 59' wound by Marcella Jaurez and an older Floyd rose . My intentions where to mod this thing to my heart's content but I ran into a little problem.......after a few minor tweeks like cutting the tone bleed capacitor off so the volume works like an actual volume and minor action adjustments.......I have to buy another one to mod because this one is a sustain machine that plays and sounds better than a few of my guitars that cost a whole lot more ! I will be ordering another one in a couple weeks just so I have two killer guitars for @ $360 ! I could literally buy 5 of these for less than a USA made soloists with enough to buy a decent half stack to spare ! You can't beat these guitars for the price ! Not even close !

1. Tighten the tuner screws 2. Cut the treble bleed capacitor off of the pot 3. Use 220 grid san paper and run it through the nut slots 4. Lube the nut slots with graphite or nut lube The whammy bar should be good to use now
