As a lifelong Corvette fan and now owner, this was a big deal for me. I know this new car has met some criticism, but not from me. I was 17 years old in 1977 and I remember getting my new Road&Track magazine that showed a mid-engine Corvette concept on the front cover with the headline 1980 CORVETTE. This is a long time coming! I know Zora is smiling at this new platform. My message to the Chevrolet dealer network is MAKE THIS CAR ACCESSIBLE!! Don't play games with crazy market adjustments over MSRP! You desperately need this Corvette to get into the hands of all Corvette enthusiasts and not just a select few uber-rich people. Thanks for the rebroadcast Rick. Great job!

OK.... the exterior is growing on me. I see strong hints of McLaren design elements (nose and side scoops). Corvette has been distinct for 66 years with the C7 having its own exterior design stamp on the eye...huge fan! However, after watching all 23 C8 Corvette Academy vids, I am excited, particularly with the performance design...OUTSTANDING! As for the interior, the fit and finish has shot through the roof here; C7 was behind the curve with the Germans (Porsche, BMW, MB, etc.). In C8, things look tight and crisp; I can't wait to sit in one! Colors schemes look so inviting and impressive with opportunity for unique expression...I LOVE THE OPTIONS! The bronze captured me along with the 3 seat options. Smooth! So... interior and performance are the draw at this point as the exterior grows on me. Watching the vids was key for me! Well-done Chevy...well-done! Great opening to the vlog Rick! Tremendous! ~Barrington

Just when I had my heart set on getting a 2019 ZO6 and watching the C8 reveal. I now need to step back and reconsider in getting a C8 corvette.I didn't think I would like it, but man it's an eye full. Just a gorgeous, gorgeous Corvette, not completely wild about the interior, but the exterior and performance, the transaxle, what a spectacular car! All I can say is my '17 Cayman S is in grave danger. Corvettes were my first love and the love never died, but has now been rekindled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sold my 2017 GS and bought an F250 to pull a track car around. Driving these cars on the street to their full potential, or even 75% of full potential, begs for trouble like personal / property damage along with legal issues accompanied with a financial disaster. Driving them within legal limits is just not fun after 15 minutes. As good as they look good at the local club event and sitting in the garage, it's just not for me. Thanks Rick for all you do. You're a huge asset to the Corvette Community, whether GM knows it or not. YMMV....maybe I'll see you on track.

As a car guy, Detroit native i lhave GM in coursing my blood. My relatives worked on the lines several generations back. I can say I literally cried when this first came out.

I'm the one of if only one...who said the door air intake was a great touch...its unique...the news was it was added on..and its not on the real one..but you were wrong..its a masterstroke...a door which has no equal ( as far as i know) and its functional..wow!!! The Audi R8 type air intake is a large box like intake..boring no real design thought..but this C8 is fantastic..yes i even gave in thinking it was not going to be on it...peer pressure..haaa ..but at least i can say i say a unique feature that majes sense... the car looks just as we saw in its final days of mick up designs..the front n side are great..the rear we will have to get use to...i think the Z06 and Zr1 versions will have large spoilers and even scissor doors..which will make it immense.

The only bad thing about the C8 is the C7 price just drop big time.

Awesome presentation, and I have to admit it's a beautiful car. I was impressed by all the design elements it has especially the interior and exterior. The horse power is truly amazing and i think this corvette will surpass the rest with all it's value and with a styarting price under 60k that is going to be amazing.

When I saw the rear of the car a few days ago I really didn't like it, and figured I would just go on and get a C7. Then you said it was too late to order 1 so was not very happy, til I saw the whole car finially, I no longer want the C7 but I also don't want the Stingray but will wait for the ZO6 or perhaps another model, just hope they will start letting us know now what the future holds for what's coming and when to expect them and pricing. Beautiful car! Hoping you are able and willing now to start informing us with all the info you've had, but couldn't give us before so we can start making decisions.

Okay Rick, I finally had time to watch your vlog on the Reveal. It has a real dry sump lubrication system! ...with three scavenge sections!!!! That is incredible. I almost thought I was hearing things. I had to replay that part. LOL Oh, and we finally got coil overs at all 4 corners! LOL This is going to be a sweet car! Save the Wave!

AND ITS GOING GOING GOING! GONE!! GM YOU HAVE KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!! Every angle is perfect on this car! Even the controversial rear end, PERFECT!

Rick I loved it !!!!!!! I liked the white one most, no spoiler. WOW 0-60 under 3 seconds ( Z51 , I know ). 2 trunks , OMG REALLY, LOVE IT ! The easy access to get in, DID YOU SEE THAT ? Under 60K for the base, UNREAL !!!!! I am buying one. The only options I want as I see this is the Z51 & front lift, thinking it will still be in the60K area. If the Z51 comes with a spoiler I’m having it removed. I’m going to order a white or silver with red interior, Z51 & front lift. This car to me needs nothing more. WOW , GM nailed it !!!!!!!! Beautiful car and affordable to many.

Rick, I can't believe (am I dreaming this...???) that Chevy pulled this Mid-Engine C8 off with a base price starting under $60k (of course, the way I would order it - properly fully loaded it should be closer to $80k, but still, this is very inexpensive for a Mid-Engine sports car). I was going to wait for the C8 Z06 or ZR1, or Zora version, but now I'm feeling too excited about this C8 Stingray with it's breath taking lines to wait..! I think my 2018 ZL1 1LE sleeping in the garage is already getting very jealous here... LOL

I love the steering wheel. Having driven the car only a few times, I'm adjusting to the shape and no like it better than a circle. The advantages outweigh any disadvantages outweigh any minor adjustments the driver must make from a circle. Judging the lock to lock on the steering wheel, a lot of thought went int that as well. If a more track focused car is needed that should come with the ZR1. That was a nice presentation and the timing was excellent. We didn't know the virus was coming but Chevy has done all it could possibly do to continue the build on the line in spite of the incredible odds against getting it done. It appears that what is going to occur with the transmission is being kept top secret for the time being. AF

I LOVE the new C8 Corvette. It could have had many different final appearances but I think the actual final product looks great. A quick way to tell if a cars lines "work" is to see the car in black and white. These two colors will show what the car looks like with bodylines emphasized ( the white ) and with the bodylines "de-emphasized" and the new C8 looks great on both colors. I was online using the new configurator but it was freezing up a little....guess to many people trying at the same time.

While I was not surprised at the look of the new Corvette, I was nevertheless awe-struck! The C8 team has definitely stepped up to plate with this contemporary design. As a side note, where the heck did they get that toad that did the introduction?! I could have easily done without that!

Probably not allot of people will agree with me here, but while I think the new C8 will be an awesome car and certainly is amazing, I personally think the C7 is a much better looking!! I really don’t like the tail lights, looks like a Camaro from the rear. just my opinion.

Under 60K, OMG! However, loading up a Z06 or a ZR1 with all the options, what will that cost? When and if will these two models be available. I'm sure the actual driving experience will be the best selling feature. Hopefully, like other first years changes, there will not be many kinks to work out! Till the Z06 and or ZR1 comes out, I'll be standing buy and driving my C7 Z06 Convertible. My ZORAZR1 license plate will be waiting to be placed on the Zora ZR1 Corvette!

The future of used Lamborghini prices will experience a serious market adjustment. This C8 is a game changer in several ways. I hope I can fit in a C8 the C7 leg room was pathetic..

What? The base model is going to have almost 500 horsepower, MSRP under $60,000 , and 0 to 60 and under 3 seconds. What will the ZO6 have and the ZR1 can you imagine there performance levels?

Think better if called Zora, some crazy 900hp hybrid, only 3k to 10K made a year, and start at $125K. Then I’d be onboard. Then again, may fall in love the second I see it in person... Anyone know the dealership tour schedule yet?
