For street use, the Monster 1200 S provides plenty of horsepower and more than enough excitement for normal people. If 146 horsepower isn't enough for you... I'll just leave it at that.

It's me again 😃 Comparing 2 completely different bikes is always hard. Monster to Streetfighter in point. i love my 1200S , it does everything I ask of it, nicely. Streetfighter would be nice but for me it's overkill. The average rider will explore the performance of the 1200s far more than the Street Fighter. If you want to impress everyone at the local hang out buy Streetfighter. If you want to have fun with a bike that can handle everyday buy 1200. Either way they both Ducati , welcome to the fan club 😃

I wonder if you'd like the Monster 1200s more if you didn't have the Streetfighter? No bike is perfect but the Monster ticks most of the boxes I need ticking for my next bike so I placed a deposit on one this morning (in black of course!) I did take a look at the Streetfighter V4 but couldn't justify the nearly £3,000 extra cost.

You definitely got spoiled by the v4 you fell in love with. No ducati ever was smooth until the V4 came out. Also the heat isn’t bad at all. I can ride it with shorts or full suit without being uncomfortable in SC with over 100 degrees in the summer. The monster is probably the best all around bike Ducati has to offer and it still offers the amazing ducati sound and with over 150hp (termi exhaust and upmap) its plenty fast.

I've been wanting a Monster 1200 for quite a while just haven't been in the position to get one for myself just yet. Unfortunately they got rid of it, I'm hoping the next generation Monster will hit the nail on the head in the looks department like I believed the Mosnter 1200 did.

Bogna knows well what a funny bike is 😀 under 9k rpm the Monster is more powerful and funnier than the SF V4, it’s two completely different bikes but the Monster 1200 is one off the funniest road bikes out there, don’t get me wrong I love my SF V4S too 😀

Question: does the steering bar feels more comfortable on the streetfighter? Got a M821 and figure out that you have to focus a lot on the steering bar to get into corners...also transmits lot of info on the front wheel. In other bikes you make less effort and you get into corners easily. Let's see you thoughts. Thanks!

@@CaliMotoTV the front and the steering bar does not have the choice to be adjusted. The rear yes.

Great final review. I don't think I could pay just a couple k less for the 1200S over the standard Streetfigher (non-s version). I could live with manual suspension adjustments on the SF.

So would you take the S1000R over the 1200S? I am looking into both these bikes at the moment. Coming from a 2011 Speed triple and a newer model `18 is also in the mix for me.

agree 100% about the LED lighting...halogen on ANY new vehicle these days just screams 'cheap'.

Tried it, didnt like it. Feels really heavy and need to muscle it around. Cornering did not feel very stable too.
