This worked! Thanks. But for anyone with a gmc Sierra AT4 with digital gauges it’s the same to put it in service brake mode but getting it out of service brake mode you have to un hook the battery and let the computer reset first (service brake light should be blinking on dash) and then use the steps how you put it in service brake mode to get it out. CTook me 4 hrs to figure that out today

Best information so far , I’d been waiting some guys changing pas but they DONT show this information and you CAN DEMAGE ur brake system if you don’t do this

After you've put the truck into Brake Service Mode, can you then shut off the truck or does it need to stay in accessory mode ("on" position) to change your pads? Thanks for the video!

To be honest, I'm not really sure. I had everything ready for this job, so I left it on while the job was being done. But I did shut the truck off after the job was complete for a couple of minutes, and I still had to do the reset to remove it from service mode

I changed the brake pads which were pretty easy to do as they are the same for the front and rear and there's only 2 wear sensors one on the left driver side front and one one the driver side rear on my 2020 gmc 2500hd duramax after I drove it on ramps to do the oil cooler Relocation kit so I'm able to install the bigger oil filter instead of that small one that it comes with it a service parking brake message illuminated with parking flashing and the wrench light every now and again it will go off I hit the parking brake before while it was off and thr brake engaged then the message popped back up and I couldn't move I had to disconnect both battery terminals waited for a minute reconnected then I was able to disengage the parking brake then the message came on then went it and came on again smh does anyone have any idea what's going on???

I think this is only for the rear because of the electronic parking brake

It's not nesssary but the check engine light will still come on.

I put it in service mode so it throws the engine light, saying there is something going on in the system. Once the process is finished then the truck is turned off, and then the next start up, everything returns to normal

Anyone have any issues with the new sensor not being read? I have a 2020 sierra elevation...did everything the correct way but it i get a " service brake pad moniter" ...any ideas?

You might of broke your pad sensor when hanging the brakes it's easy to do. What ever sidecar is if replace the sensor you should be ok

@@Nitrorednecks I didn’t hang the brakes I secured it up when working on it, the very last step I did was the sensor, maybe it’s just faulty…I’m gonna call the dealer and see what they say, I also didn’t do the rear, maybe that’s why? Maybe you gotta do the front and rear for everything to read correctly

Saw this video after pulling caliper off…while off, I tried to put it in SVC mode. She’s fucked now. Replaced the caliper that blew a piston out of it, bled…still fucked. I’m not sure what the fuck I did but I don’t think I can fix it

Not fucked. You will have to take it somewhere with a programmer to bleed the system. If there is a leak in a rear wheel the system will block that wheel off. So it needs to be bleed from a programmer. That should solve your problem

Did my brakes and rotors today on the front and when I took it out of service mode the brake failure 45mph error came on. Disconnected the battery and started it and still same issue. What do I do to fix this. Brake light is also on. 2019 gmc sierra slt

Same thing happened to me the first time i did my brakes on my 2020 Sierra 1500 Elevation. Seeing it's been a day since your comment you've probably already found out that you have to let it sit for a while or get the codes cleared by a dealer. Those were the only 2 options I found on the internet
