I can't find information anywhere and figured I would ask y'all. I have a Honda IGX800 belt drive pressure washer. Is that engine supposed to automatically idle down when not under load? I completely removed the drive belt as a test, and it is still at full RPM at all times. I have seen videos where engine goes to idle when off trigger. Do you know what may be causing this? Thank you

Love your work doing gas stations bro. You’re killing it! I’m a little guy (no pun intended) 5.5 gpm machine looking to upgrade to a more efficient machine. IGX 800 looks good.

i'm seeing a lot of videos and posts on forums about these engines and not in a good way. lots of failures it seems, are they working on a fix or are they going to ignore it and think that their product is elite like they do with their cars?

Well no small engines shops around my area in Mississippi know how to even work on them. I have a useless IGX800 Pressure washer that no one knows how to fix. I’ve changed out the fuel pump, fuel filters, spark plugs, and now about to change out the coils. It loses power every time I go to high pressure and immediately fowls both spark plugs. 3-5 minutes into changing them out.

There is a known issue with the coils. Ive been through this for weeks changed the coils and it worked great

@@cdltestgenius. Hello. Was the rpm on the motor going up and down? That’s what happens with one but the pressure and performance has been fine. The motor just keeps running high and low. Gets annoying. Please let ne know

@@blueshieldpowerwashingfl it would barely idle. i bought coils online I have 5 of these machines. bought them all in the last 2-3 years. I had to change the coils on almost every unit. Buy the coils online and see. Part numbers. 30510-zdx-003 and 30520-zdx-003

By the "old" standard. (The one Briggs/Vanguard and Kohler still use) It's "28 Gross Horsepower" with an error of 5% allowed. Gross, means no air filter or restrictive exhaust attached. Honda later opted to use 24.9 "NET" horsepower, that is what you can expect to see as is. Now, if Vanguard would do the same. Their 810 28hp engine barely makes 24-25 in reality. Just like the Honda iGX800 actually advertises. The tattletale is in the fuel burn. By Briggs/Vanguards own admission, their claimed fuel burn comes out to maybe 18-20hp on the same engine. If you account for the fact 50% efficiency is nearly impossible in a lab, let alone with an air cooled industrial motor. Honda is a little sneaky too, their advertised fuel consumption is at a moderate load and full rpm. The European spec sheet shows fuel burn at full load and its much much higher (and believable, and also reasonably good BSFC for this type of motor).
