Good observation I missed that

some have put the palisade and telluride as number one of all midsize due to the lower cost and amenities,tech. i find luxury to be things that you cannot see such as safety and quiet and ride,not how many speakers the car has or inches of the screen. the buick comes with real leather etc...and is a 120 yr old brand.

When you go thru corporate Buicks website you can price an Enclave for over $65,000. Obviously at the dealership you never pay that.

We can't get the trims to ever line up because we have to work with what's on offer from the OEMs. But we do take price into consideration; even with the Ultimate, the Palisade is still a lot less money than the Enclave Avenir.

Play Doh even if you pitted Palisade Ultimate vs Buick Enclave, the Buick has more solid luxury trim in it coz the Buick is made to challenge BMW indirectly. Palisade is just an ugly box that claimed itself to be on same level as BMW which is not by far. I would pick the Buick Enclave and so are the many Chinese in China for the best high class design, feel, engine and responsive transmission. Buick is 1 of best selling vehicles in China actually but white Americans didn't seem to like Buick.

They shouldn’t even be compared since Buick is luxury/premium and Hyundai is main stream.

They have a SEL AWD with convenience and premium packages. Same as the Limited but available with middle row bench seat and without the heads up display, blind spot monitors and extra moon roof. It’s fair and Hyundai won anyhow.

Carline Matthews No it's not. That would be the Ultimate and this was not an Ultimate. It's really no contest here in the states. We paid $45K for our limited and the Buick Enclave Avenir is over $60K. The Buick has worse reliability, worse initial quality according to JDPower, a dated tech package and just doesn't have the fit/finish of the Palisade Limited. Remember that the Palisade is built on the same line with the Genesis G sedans.

@@TheCvp33, Hyundai's trim and pricing structure is different between Canada and the U.S. Hyundai Canada offers the Palisade in four trim levels - Essential, Preferred, Luxury, and Ultimate. In the U.S., it's SE, SEL, and Limited. We tested the Luxury; it was very well-equipped, but didn't have the Nappa leather, full digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, etc., from the Ultimate. Here in Canada, the Luxury is $50K and the Ultimate is $54K - still a lot less money than the Enclave Avenir.

Driving.ca so not a fair comparison of top model versus top model. Ultimate versus Avenir and the Hyundai will win handily. Simply put, Hyundai motors is out to win this category with the Telluride and Palisade and is selling out before vehicles hit the dealers. Hyundai estimated 25K of each example would be their limit.....they're on pace to sell 60K copies of each.

@@kazuto1905 if youre a bean counter,but real materials count and visual liking is in the eye of the beholder. buick is what mercury was to ford,as a 70 yr old i can remember the 50-60s buicks driven by DRS and they along with cadillacs and imperials were considered luxury cars,now buick is premium,does not compete with audi,bmw,mercedez etc.

mybro727 GM is under 3 class action lawsuits. They bought my 2016 Z06 back, but there are 30K more out there. GM has the Z06 lawsuit, the diesel fuel pump lawsuit and the 8 speed transmission shudder lawsuit. All are moving forward after approval from Federal Judges. GM refuses to do a recall. Hyundai motors immediately did a recall for the misprogrammed catalytic converter. But you're right GM is winning in class action lawsuits 3 - 1 over Hyundai. Seriously you and Jose need to do your research. This isn't even hard.

TheCvp33 Hyundai quality? Hyundai is facing a class action lawsuit is to fix the life threatening issue they’ve had with engines malfunctioning and randomly catching fire. There are brand new vehicles not even a week after leaving Hyundai dealership lots that have completely burned down to the ground. GM and Buick has never experienced such poor build quality. If a company that’s been in the “top 3” for quality and reliability have this level of engineering and build quality what does that tell you? It tells me the polls are a bit misleading and outdated.

@@mybro727 Yeah, I think you missed my earlier response. GM is the one with the 3 Class Action lawsuits and has failed to do a proper recall. Hyundai USA has 1 class action law suit after they performed the proper recall. The claiments are seeking dimished value compensation as the recall solved the issue. GM has yet to solve their issue, perform a recall and has decided to "wait out" the customers. Hardly the stuff of companies concerned about quality and brand loyalty. But please do some reading and then come back. This is getting a little old watching your hollow argument play out in public with no facts to support it. Seriously, you're going to need to try harder to defend GM's slipping quality rankings amidst and against the car company that finished first, second and third 2 years in a row.
