I weight 130lbs as a 30+ year old adult and I still can't get over my '96 KX100. If you're light weight person, I might argue it's the best $1100 I ever spent... I can't imagine the need for more power (besides the fact that it's low/mid range lacks torque, ofc) I geared her out to 62mph (stock was... 45mph?) and it still does power wheelies in 4th gear w/ Boysen reeds & an FMF fatty + 10lbs flywheel weight for trailing.
@Wooskii15 ай бұрын
Does it really really power wheelie in 4th with taller gearing? Did it lift in 5th or even 6th with stock gearing? I just got a '06 KX 100 and I'm trying to figure out how much power it should have, it's a total dog. It runs okay but it's low on compression, and don't even want to lift the front end in second with me on it (I'm about 170lbs) I also thought they went quite a bit faster than 45 stock... I want to know if I should go straight for a full motor build (big bore + bottom end and 103 or 107 stroker? depending on crank condition) or if I would be happy with it if I just restore it to stock specs. I don't plan on racing it, just a cool little play mini bike to rip around. Please don't say "Just get a 125", I have 2 other full size bikes currently (one is a 300xcw) have owned plenty others, and I just want a smaller super light bike. I've ridden 65s, 80s, and 85s all at my current weight or heavier and the 100 is just underwhelming (the tiny 65 felt more impressive). I just don't want it to be too pipey like a MX 65/ 80 (why I chose a 100) but I don't need another enduro bike either. What other bikes would you compare the 100 to generally? I'd hate to build the motor only to think I want a big bore/ stroker later, or to over do it wasting money and reliability. Thanks in advance to anyone who gives their advice (unless it's to get a different bike)😂

I bought a 2020 kx100 2 weeks ago. It’s fun and it rips but I’ve had a lot of problems with it. I did the break in procedure at 16:1 fouled 3 plugs. Then I went to 32:1 and fouled 2 plugs but I wasn’t hard on the pipe. I’m going to try Amsoil now at 40:1 with a br9eix for trails and see how it works. The exhaust also leaks oil out.

Two strokes are made to RIP, keep rpms high dont let it bog down and should solve the plug problem

Aaron Paul I have a kx 100 and I ride it to its max and I fouled plugs left and right, the plugs that Kawasaki recommends are not good. If you ride hard like me get NHK BR9ES, and of you ride trails or if your not on the pipe hard get, NGK BR8ES. Run 40:1 on you premix for both plugs and you’ll never foul out another plug👍👊
@aaronpaul96504 жыл бұрын
Coltan Dent yep the plugs are shit. I run at br9eg and 40:1 Amsoil works much better now. I just need to stay on the pipe

I’m 12 and thinking of getting a dirtbike. Mos5 likely a 125cc 2 stroke. Should I go with Kawasaki, Yamaha, or Honda. Like what ones handle or accelerate better. Amazing driving I’ve gotta say.
@ozair61712 жыл бұрын
From where i live, online stores other than suzuki, yamaha, and KTM do not sell 125cc 2 strokes, KX125 wouldve been great but its not made anymore and the CRF125 is a 4 stroke so it produces half the power of a 2 stroke equivelant. Considering ur age, i strongly recommend u do not go for a 125 and instead go for a 100 or an 85. They are supermini motorbikes with their own racing class and have very good handling due to their weight. If you really want a 4 stroke, CRF150 is the best. All in all, the two i would most recommend are the KX100, YZ85, CRF150, KTM SXC 125, or RM85. All make above 25 horsepower so I think you will not be dissapointed.

@woodrumracingvlogs4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I was surprised on how well the suspension handled this track. However this was not a full prepped moto track with braking bumps like you'd see on a race weekend. If you want to hit some jumps the KYB's are capable.

Just sold my KX100 that I used for learning. Got to the point where my body size (5'9" 162lbs) limits what I can do with it. Was looking at the YZ125X but it looks like it gets dusted by the KX100. Looks like I'll jump up to the YZ250X instead

Should be picking up my 250X today or tomorrow. The KX100 size was limiting what I could do with it. I'm 5'9" 162lbs. Wanted to go to a bigger bike without wasting the money on in-between bikes. I was stuck on the 125X for a minute until I fully evaluated what goals I have and what I'd like to do. The YZ250X was just a better decision for me and cheaper considering the costs between the two over time

No a 125 2 stroke is the same size as a 250 4 stroke, and a 100 2 stroke is the same size as a 85cc big wheel, which is about a 3 inch difference seat height between the yz125 and the kx100

Sneaker Game On Point how would I fit on 125x if I’m 5’5 and 125 pounds
@cole97774 жыл бұрын
@@tastypotato2732 um not the best fitting bike for you, but if you're gonna be growing some more to like 5"7" or 5'8", then yes you will fit properly on a yz125x. Since you're 5'5" right now, then I would say get a kx100 or maybe a Honda crf150r they are very good 4 stroke race bikes. But if you aren't into four strokes, then i'd say get a kx100. Well you could always get the yz125x and lower it about 2 inches. But you are 125lbs, those 125's are snappy man. My 1991 kx125 got to 80mph with an upgraded sprocket on it, so a yz125x will do probably about anywhere to 71-75mph stock.
@cole97774 жыл бұрын
@@tastypotato2732 you'd probably be on your tippy toes on a yz125x. The proper fitting bike should be, 1) not too much power. Say for example, you wouldn't want a ktm450sx when you are 5'1" and 110lbs. 2) make sure you are tall enough and confident that it's the right bike for you. For example, if you like Yamahas but don't like Kawasaki's, then I'd say get a yamaha bike instead of a Kawasaki bike, it's really personal preference on what brand you like. Also, your feet should be 3/4 of the way on the ground, you shouldn't be on your tippy toes and your feet shouldn't be planted completely on the ground. 3) and last but not least, you should always have fun AND be safe. For example, don't buy a bike that you think is boring or is not fun at all. And ease in in the bike when you first get it, don't just hit the powerband and fall, ultimately busting your ass. It takes time to get used to a dirt bike, every dirt bike has a different feel. Sorry for the long comment, but I hope this helped you out!!!.
@tastypotato27324 жыл бұрын
Sneaker Game On Point thanks, that helped, I have a kx100 right now and my feet are almost flat footing it with boots on. I just hope I grow to at least 5’8 so i can fit almost comfortably on like a 250 or something like that. I’m just concerned if I’ll grow or not.
