as much we all miss the v10s and v8s, that engine sounds so fucking good, especially on the downshift. reminds me of the blown diffusers from 2011.

I do agree to a certain extent. It's not great, but it's not that bad either. In terms of this current generation, I feel the Honda motor sounds better than any of it's other competitors.

Agree. I think it's analogous to thinking 80s and 90s F1 cars are "cool" because they're raw and simple, versus thinking today's cars are "cool" because of their speed and tech. They sound different, and people love the v10s and v8s, but these ones sound good in a *different* way.

I'm routing for Alpha Tauri this year. Pierre had such an amazing comeback from when he was demoted down from Redbull and now they have a new diver with Tsunoda.

F1 cars, and race cars in general I guess, always seem more impressive to me when they are filmed from the side of the track by some guy rather than a full on professional tv crew

That's because the cars are always perfectly centered, FOV is low. Can't see much other than the cars wich make them look slow af.

These cars are completely different. The first one is mounted with the at01's parts, and the second one is the new car. I think they did a comparative test.

1:04 they're running two different nose specs. Gasly, (assuming he's the #1 driver rn) is running a thinner nose more aerodynamic and Tsunoda is running the wider more stable nose.

Narrow nose is the new 2021 car. Wide nose is the 2019 car for Tsunoda to get miles since he cannot use the 2020 car. So gasly is running the new 2021 car

Yes, the one with the wider front end is the AT01, their car from last year. The new one looks so much more agressive to me.

@@jesusl1124 I’m not sure. I would think not based on Pierre’s prowess last season. Maybe that was just the better running car so they gave it to him for testing? Or, fully speculative, maybe Honda had some say in it. Both are long shot guesses. We will find out in Bahrain though. Edit: in the AT02 launch they used Tsunodas car and it had the black pylon. Odd.

@@AnthonyRamirezX yeah i know, what i mean is the engine have more acceleration and sound different when they hit the brakes than last years. what would you do with v6 1500cc turbo, acceleration or top speed? as u know that mercedes have more hp than honda and the others,merc have more downforce they can even pass the other drivers without drs.if redbull and AT honda could do the same, than this years would be intersting to watching F1 show

They actually did, but Redbull has an agreement with them to use their PU's. That's thanks to freezing engine development for a year( or two...?)

This is their final year as a supplier. They originally planned a new PU for '21, then with the Covid situation, they decided to delay it until '22. Then with the decision by Honda Japan to withdraw, they decided to push for the updated PU this season (as originally planned). Hopefully it is a step forward. RBR will take over the IP from Honda for the '22 season (with presumably some support from Honda under the table). I think the reason for withdrawing is more a political one (to send a message of being forward thinking in its corporate image) and so there is probably some internal support for helping RBR as much as possible. Notice that both RBR and AT will have a big HONDA logo on their rear wings in '21.

They will leave F1 at the end of the season, but Redbull bull will be keeping the engine until 2025

They are leaving after 2021, and they took the chance to shove in they japanese protege. This is most likely the first and last season of Tsunoda in F1, unless he performs some miracles, which i doubt he will

@@plamenmilanov3009 hes the second best driver of 2020 F2 and a rookie, they didn't need to "shove" lol. It was either him or Vips and honestly, i dont think Vips is as good. We will see how Vips performs this year in F2.
