The inaugural Bear Mountain Hare Scramble is a new location for the D36 XC series put on by the Polka Dots MC & District 36. We were blessed with perfect weather, perfect dirt and perfect trails. This course kept us guessing with long off camber corners, loose side hills and tight single track we all love. It was a welcome change from the MX tracks and we are back to figuring out how to pass 100 riders that are ahead of you on tight trails. Last time I checked we had roughly 380 riders in the C class race so getting ahead was crucial to your finish position.
Overall I had a good race, the crowds added to the fun of working your way up the field and gutted I couldn't get in one more lap. Thanks to D36/Polka Dots for finding and working with the ranch owners to put on a well executed event!
