Hare Scrambles should never start with a straightaway, and semi mx track, anyone can go fast. 10 guys get ahead that have zero enduro skills and the bottle necks begin as soon as the technical sections come. Start with a prologue at least, to catch/hold back those with no enduro skills, and allow everyone to have a great day. Edit: The track part is admittedly cool, but they should do a prologue; Logs, rock garden, etc to determine the starting positions, then head to the semi mx track, leading into the single track.

Can you help explain to me what a GP is? I thought it was supposed to be a track race but it seems closer to cross country? Seems very fast and has some road course stuff it looks like?
@DirtSteveZA
@DirtSteveZA 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if there is a specific definition as all of these races are in the d36 cross country class. Having said that PCGP is much higher speed because of the wide open sections. The Lilliputian is at the same location but it has Hangtown MX and a different configuration.

@DirtSteveZA
@DirtSteveZA 2 жыл бұрын
@@Shipman37x lots of riders that only ride one or two d36 races a year, often there are really good riders at A/B level but because they enter just one or two races they never progress to the next class. You find that the consistent C Vet riders are at every race and are mostly at a similar level. I think C Vet is usually bunched in with a bunch of other classes so the field can be crowded.

Great job fighting through the heat exhaustion, we know about that down here in AZ! I have to ask, what camera settings are you using? Everything seems sped up and jerky, even though I know it's real time. All of the trail footage, and even when you put on your goggles at one point, it was all choppy, like an old time movie. Are you shooting it slower than 30 frames per second?
@DirtSteveZA
@DirtSteveZA 2 жыл бұрын
I use a gopro 7 at 24fps, because of the slow average speed for this race I bumped the speed up by 7% so thats probably why it gets jerky as frames are then dropped in post editing. I tested it out at 30fps and the videos dont do a good job conveying the speed or violent movement you experience while riding. When its liquid smooth its not very entertaining to watch 🤣
@MotoTripping
@MotoTripping 2 жыл бұрын
@@DirtSteveZA I see! Have you tried recording in 1080p at 60 fps, and then editing post-production in 1080p 30 fps? I do that - you get all the action, and none of the jerkiness. I use the GoPro 5 - don't know if that makes a difference or not?

Looks like the afternoon race may have had better "worked in" lines then the morning race.... even though I still took 1 wrong turn... @43:35 Is that a drone motor right over you @19:19 , must have been very close..... The never ending rock gardens "Jersey Area's I think" in addition to the heat are brutal, just totally energy draining, even if you stay up the whole time.... you did really well.... My chain came off "once" about 2 mile "bottom of that long rocky climb" prior to where ur did, that's totally frustrating..... Looks like ur camera stopped at the "The good stuff." Congrats, to finish 1 lap in that heat is an accomplishment.
