I don't think buyers of this car will be too bothered with it being FWD. It's basically BMW making an affordable car to make them more accessible to more buyers. Its basically their version of the corolla.

This 218i actually looks great with the original front silver grill. The grill upgrade to gloss black make it worse. The whole car is sexy though, I seriously don’t understand the hate towards this model. Saw this in person two times.

the hate come from the so called "Purists", but I still don't understand why since this wasn't designed with them in mind. No "Purist" would be interested in this anyways.

I think is alright to b FWD. The look is good enough that will attract ppl eyes. Those who really care about RWD won't mind to pay more for 330i.

I don't mind the FWD shift, but I would like to raise the horrible confusion of the 2 series nameplate (RWD coupe, FWD gran coupe, FWD Active Tourer & FWD gran tourer). What do you think?

Maybe the next or after the next generation , all will be fwd. The M version will be AWD. It will be cheaper since the current 1 series hatchback, the X1, 2 series mpv thing shares the same platform with Mini

your video should cover the road view with the dash and yourself which will make it more interesting than just watching you talk.

Front wheel drive on a model with this size of engine works fine ..it’s a trade off if you live in a country with a proper winter it’s probably better front wheel drive . Ice and snow rear wheel drives virtually dosent move so useless as a daily driver ..This isn’t performance spec it’s about daily driving and this will work well ..

BMW should allow to permanently disable the start stop function

you can via coding either to disable it or activate the last memory setting which is switching on the deactivate the start/stop located beside the gear nob.

The exterior def lokks better than 3 series. but the analogue meter now is fully digitalize. I saw my friends 2024 model. Love it

Honestly I think the reviewer was getting too philosophical towards the end of this video.. Too much useless debate on FWD vs RWD.. Overall it's a beautiful car for 200+k & it's a Beemer.. BTW the earlier part of the video was actually quite good eg transverse engine layout, roominess of space, seats, dashboard design, etc.. So I skipped the rest from minute 24 onwards... Thank you

The title says FWD Sedan, and your example which is a 128ti is a hatchback... Still, I wished the 1 series is still a RWD car.

BMW 218i Gran Coupe feel not so premium compare to Mercedes A class saloon , mercedes less vibrate and shaking on bump and road on high speed above 110-160km the build quality also quite good they still maintain the premium parts with budget price tag... im going to choose mercedes A class saloon.. sorry if some peoples like bmw .. BMW has no problem about comfort if price tag above RM300,000-RM1millions above..

I think interior build quality, they are about same. The Mercedes has better engine offerings, but in our market, much higher price tag also la
