After spending time and all these cars I bought the Volvo. Mustang was way too laggy and just a poor infotainment experience. Seats were ok but felt like they are made out of poor materials. The driving experience was good. The Tesla had very bad seats. The paint was chipping on a new car. The infotainment system was great. But everything else was just so so. The Volvo's range obviously isn't great, but that only becomes a problem if you're not able to charge it at your house for a daily driver. The seats were fantastic. The infotainment system was very snappy and, being an Android unit it, has a bunch of bells and whistles. The digital dash was the best out of all these cars and the build quality is exquisite. I went in thinking I was going to buy the Ford and walked away with a Volvo. My recommendation is, if you can like I was lucky to, find a chance to sit in all these vehicles and test them out. Feel for yourself the difference because I was greatly disappointed how poorly the mustang was put together, not happy about the quality of the Tesla's seats and paint, but the Volvo just blew me away.

I have no problems getting +400km range on the XC40 in the summer!

Reviewers really need to stop quoting EPA figures when making range comparisons, particularly when Tesla is the only manufacturer that does not follow the standard EPA test cycle. The result of which is that EVERY single manufacturer (besides TESLA) actually achieves and in most cases exceeds their EPA figures, while Tesla ALWAYS fails to achieve those figures in the real world BY A LARGE MARGIN, upwards of 20% in many cases. The reality is that in the real world the Mach-E AWDX actually travels much farther per 100% charge, than the Model Y Long range at 100% charge in the real world. People buy the specs that everyone parrots without actual testing, and then when they pay 60k to 80k for a model Y and find out that the Mach-E goes much further in real life driving, they are not so happy. Do yourself a favor and test these things out for yourself, particularly if you actually have the cars available for testing. In the meantime head on over to Edmunds channel, or Alex on Autos where you can see for yourself that both cars in identical driving conditions side by side, the Mach-E and consistently destroys the model Y on range.

XC40. No doubt. Fords seats are terrible and it's too small. Model Y doesn't have instrument cluster so that's a deal breaker. Plus all that acceleration and feel of the car is way over hyped. Volvo is the most safest, best interior and the range isn't that important here. Plenty of 150kW chargers for road tripping. Can't wait for the new C40!

Looks like you should have done a soley Mach e review since you you mainly talked about it.

The Mach-e is not smaller than the xc40. It has two more inches of rear leg room and the whole car is about 10 inches longer if I remember right which gives it a longer trunk.

The major turn off with the Tesla is that there are lots of Ubers driving that, and I see one every minute on the road. The other 2 I rarely see (in London).

When it comes to reliability I would recommend you watch Sandy Monroe's newest video on the mach-e HVAC system. It's just overly complicated with a lot of potential leak spots

Tesla and Ford E-Mustang maybe work also well in dry invironent and where is warm weather but where I live here in north in wet and also gold weather like in winter time (-20 to -30 celsius) Volvo XC 40 P8 is quarantee sure better choice than Tesla and Ford E-Mustang.
