I installed this lift last week and I’m stumped.. the passenger side spring is bowed towards the sway bar but the driver side isn’t.. I have like 3-4 inches from the sway bar on the drivers side and 1/2 inch from the passenger side.. I’ve made sure everything is correct.. the upper spring pads are installed correct.. can you give me advice please.. it’s driving me crazy cause I can’t figure it out.. you install a lot of these lifts and probably tell me what I did wrong.. thank you

I was motivated by the dealer wanting $1k in labor. You make it look like a pro can do it in 3-4 hours and even a novice might take a day. You've given me some courage to tackle it myself...maybe. I'll be on the floor, which is no fun for me. Thanks for the video.

@TylerPotter3 жыл бұрын
99% of the time we have just found they needed the steering wheels straightened, as the toe was still correctly set from the factory but on the off chance the toe is slightly out of adjustment a alignment would be cheap to double check to make sure you aren't wearing tires poorly. @@TylerPotter I am guilty of the same on my JLUR (went with 35s for two years before attempting 37s). Since the JK version took a lot of front axle modification, driveline replacement, flat fenders, 3" lift, re-gearing, adjustable control arms, etc. to go from 35 to 37 I think a lot of JL owners just assume that they have to do the same mods to their JL for 37s. I was pretty excited to discover that with the JL Rubicon and a MOPAR lift, the stock axle is ok, the stock fenders and drivelines are ok, and with the 8 speed re-gearing is not needed. I am loving 37s on my JL now and wish that I would have skipped the 35s.

I have the 2021 JLUR (in snazzberry) on order along with the Mopar lift to be installed by the dealership right when it gets in but I read the axels get off and Mopar doesn’t make adjustable track bars so I’m concerned adding one from someone else will void my warranty.

I would be worried about tire to fender clearance with 37's on the Willy's since it does not have the higher clearance fender flairs of the Rubicon, Mopar recommends 35's with the Mopar 2in lift on the non high clearance fender Wranglers. Thanks for the view!

Great video. Thank you for making it. I had my Mopar lift kit recently installed by the jeep dealership. They correctly installed the driver and passenger side front springs, but incorrectly installed the driver and passenger side rear springs = rear passenger spring installed on driver side and rear driver spring installed on the passenger side. My '21 JL is now leaning lower on the passenger side by almost a full inch. Probably a dumb question, but Is the rear spring installation the cause?
@TylerPotter2 жыл бұрын
It defiantly can't help. They have the slightly stiffer spring on the side for the fuel tank, so if the springs are on the incorrect side it could defiantly lean. I would probably be going in to the dealership and having them reinstall the springs in the correct position for free since it was done wrong. I know I have corrected a few that have come in from other shops with the springs and other parts put on wrong. Thanks for the view!

We have done a LOT of 37's on JLUR with no issues. With the 8 speed trans they really seem to drive great still. I am in the midst of installing my Mopar lift kit on my JLU Diesel. Was hoping you could help me , considering how many you have done already. I am not sure what the issue is but the nuts provided to secure my front bump stop, would only engage about 1 round of thread and it just would not go any further. Either the nut is wrong or the stud out from the bump stop is bad, (which i highly doubt because it is the same issue on both bump stop) Do you know by chance what size nut i will need to secure the front bump stop?
@TylerPotter3 жыл бұрын
The nut for the bump stops is a lock nut and the threads on the bump stop have a bunch of paint on them so I always thread the nut on and off the front bump stop stud multiple times to cut off all of the paint and make the nut go on and off easier before I attempt to put them on the vehicle where it is a lot harder to get on the nut if that makes sense
@MrFenderpicks3 жыл бұрын
@@TylerPotter I searched up on that last night, but the threads on by bump stop does not have any paint at all. The thread isnt painted at all. I discovered this issue after i put both springs back in the vehicle. So i lifted the bump stop up and tried to thread the nut on with a ratchet and there was no way on earth the nut was willing to budge at all.

The manufacturer recommends that you don't tight the bushing all the way until the jeep is on the ground under it's own weight to avoid binding...!
@TylerPotter3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm not sure if the video shows or not but I attempt use the jack to lift the axle up into a somewhat close ride height position before tightening or I will lower the vehicle set it on the ground before tightening the control arm bushings

How much did the 2 inch Mopar lift and 35's add to the height? Is it the true 3inches it should or does the Mopar Lift add more than 2 inches?
@TylerPotter3 жыл бұрын
That is a very good question, I don't think we have ever measured before and after for some reason even though I tell myself to every time, we should be lifting 2 more this week so I will try to measure them before and after for once!

@@TylerPotter thank you. I am looking to do the Mopar lift and 35’s, but have a height restriction in a parking garage. Just want to make sure it will still fit. I have about 5-6 inches of clearance now.

The Mopar lift reuses the factory trackbars, the axles are just slightly off center, I have had a few customers bring in aftermarket adjustable trackbars to add to the Mopar lift. Thanks for the view!

@@TylerPotter does it not shift the axle over quite a bit. My ram sure did
@TylerPotter2 жыл бұрын
Yes it shifts them over slightly but not enough for Jeep to be concerned with apparently. Depending on your trucks lift height it definitely might have shifted it over more than it does with the Mopar 2in

So why does my dealer charge me $600cad. for the install that looks to take 1hr. long?
@TylerPotter3 жыл бұрын
If we pull the Jeep in the morning, put it on the lift, unbox the new lift parts, remove the tire pressure sensors from the original wheels, mount and balance the new wheels and tires and install the tire pressure sensors, install the lift, perform a alignment, road test and perform the tire size calibration the whole process takes about the whole day normally. Sometimes more time if we are installing different bumpers or adding winches and lights.
@newbwheeler97773 жыл бұрын
@@TylerPotter My dealer charged me for the alignment on top of the install and never calibrated my 35’s I had to buy the Tazer for that.
