I have a 17 STI and I always smile driving it, the rumble gets me everytime. One of the little things I love is the red illuminated STI light by the shifter. Awesome you got back into one, the blue pops way more than the black.

Me too. I had an 05 I bought in 08, then traded it later because I thought I needed to, and, practically speaking I guess I did. It didn't take long for me to then later buy a 15 WRX, but really wanted the Sti back. So in 21 I did. Last year of the car and worth every penny.

I had one of the original WRX's in 1994 in New Zealand. Had it for 10 years, did some mild mods to it. Sold it. Went through various other boring cars, then the last 3 years had a Mustang GT PP1 and just now selling it, and going for a 2021 WRX STi. Can't wait. I have missed that sound!!

I heard the 2019+ STI's with the RA engine have understated HP numbers. Watching that launch, certainly looks that way to me.

I wouldnt worry about launching it. STi drivetrain is so robust, only thing you should feel bad for is the couple of miles you take off the OEM clutchs life :(

That’s like my first every time doing a real launch. I’ve done a few pulls from 1st and that’s it. I don’t beat on the car

"there's always one car in front of me"...I agree because it's true. But when that happens to me, that one car is behind me in short order. Double yellow, it doesn't matter. But THAT is why you drive an Sti.

@jazzblaster yes of course. Don't be ridiculous. SP won't stop u if you have lots of real estate and no one around. Do you seriously slow down to follow people who see you coming when you're doing 60, pull out in front of you, and do 40?!

@JonathanWRX a friend of mine, former-State Trooper, said they will not stop anyone passing on double yellow if there's enough real estate. I applaud your patience.
