It was a 12 hour trip (7am - 7pm). There's about 5-6 hours of fishing, because it's a longer range. Since it's a longer range trip, quality and quantity of fish do go up.
Vermilion snappers were target species and it was fairly successful for the boat. Personally, I only caught four keepers and caught (too) many American Red Snappers, which are out of season.
I caught my first Barracuda, which was cool. Also saw a sailfish get caught.
I gave away my keeper fish and the Barracuda to fellow anglers.
I had fun and that's what matters. I still have fish left over from Yankee Capts trip last month, even after giving away more than half to neighbors and co-workers.
