Yup, party boat fishing is not for everyone and that’s one of the things I try to highlight. Try to set expectations so people know that they may or may not get lucky and that often times, it’ll be elbow to elbow. I personally grew to love fishing from party boats in general for convenience and value. $100 nominal fee for 9 hrs of fishing from air conditioned boat is hard to beat. Definitely not for everyone though. Tight lines!

@theanglercrew7059 I agree with you about most boats. Up here in jacksonville we're lucky we had 2 of the better day boats in Florida, the Mayport Princess and the King Neptune. They were some of the best producers ever for daily boats. The Orlando Princess and Canaveral are known to be lack luster overall. You did your thing cause you're a fisherman but that boat should have an 80% limit in that boat. Then again that boat is known to stay away cause of this reason. I'm glad you did well and being an actual fisherman helps when the capt is lazy or not skilled.

@theanglercrew7059
@theanglercrew7059 2 күн бұрын
Ty! If it’s your personal gear, you are allowed to fish lighter line, because there’s no hard rule. It should be fine as long as you have mono topshot. Regulars might get a little upset if you keep breaking off and shutting down the bite though lol. They’ll allow you to fish double snell rigs. You can bring as many setups as you want, but you can only have one rod at a time in the rod holder. You have to keep the other rods out of the way. I usually keep mine on the second deck and I’ve seen people store it inside/stern area. You just have to keep swapping it out one for one, so that’s the cost of bringing multiple rods. Tight lines!

Bringing your own 30-50lb class rod/reel setup would be ideal. Otherwise they will give you a heavy setup and you won’t be able to feel the bites as well as your own setup. If you want to catch whatever bites, using a 2 hook chicken rig is the way to go. If you want to catch bigger snappers, then you’ll want to catch grunts quickly, cut them up into “plugs” (deckhands will do it for you if you ask), and hold on! Tight lines and good luck!
