This was probably my best party boat trip in Florida. Lot of variety and few big fish that filled the cooler.
The bite was hot, then turned off for a while. The last fish I caught (Mutton Snapper) Was 90% luck in my opinion. This trip was WAY better than Ocean Obsession, mainly because the number of people who were on the boat.

How do you feel the bite in deep waters?

Another great video. I really enjoyed it. How come you are using a round reel vice the light inshore baitcasters like the daiwa TWS? I think I bought mine after I started watching your videos. Just asking because it seems like most fish are caught are below 5 lbs, and light jogging rod and reel would be suffice.. then i finished watching your videos with sharks and king mackerel.. nevermind

Fishing tackle Channel If I could, honestly, I would go as light as possible. But on these party boats, you just never know what you will catch. For groupers, King Macks, and sharks, I think it would be ergonomically harder to reel in these bigger fish with light gear. I would love to use my lighter tackle again lol. Hopefully maybe I get used to Florida fishing a little more!

Fishing tackle Channel I had little luck on the Spro jig this time - I didn’t use it too much. The person fishing next to me was using a 8oz Shimano Butterfly jig and he was catching various species. He said he didn’t touch bait at all on his trip last week because the butterfly jig was catching everything.

What are you using for bait

Maurice Kite They give sardines and squid. If you catch grunts, they make good bait too.

Maurice Kite Def no need for croakers and shrimp. The problem with shrimp is that everything eats shrimp and you’ll be losing bait really quick. I say stick with what they give you and bring a sabiki rig and catch fresh bait. Many people use sabiki to catch fresh bait on these boats.
