Acura makes some really cool automotive audio systems, and the RDX with its top-tier ELS Studio 3D audio is a great example. While this isn't our favorite system ever, we still very much enjoy it.

On my last car, I spent more money than i care to admit creating my audio setup. Then I got the RDX and the stock system it had was much better than what I could create in that crv

I’m in the same boat with my 2016 Accord my next vehicle will have a factory stereo I love audio but car audio is one I don’t want to mess with anymore especially when it costs so much and you always loose cargo space which I prioritize more now as I’m getting older.

I think what keeps this system back, especially in your eyes is that this system is vibrant, and kinda embellishes the sound. I believe most people may prefer vibrant sound, and sometimes it sounds more pleasing to the ear. I typically prefer a more vibrant, and saturated system but lately I've found that to be a bit fatiguing after long listening, so lately I've been gearing towards more natural sound. To some people, this will sound better than some of Volvo's B&W systems because of that. And I think the clarity in the ELS outclasses the AKG in the escalade. But when you get to systems this good, a lot of things become personal preference. I think the tlx does sound better than the rdx however.

You should try to test the 12 speaker ELS from the tech trims as that is the real value trim.

I Can Relate With your Audio Assessment, The No Aux input Prevented This Vehicle from being my Dream Machine, however I did Add a 12 Inch Sub and A 500W Amp, Then Adjust to Feel the Vibe From your Door Speakers, Then Tweak Everything Else… The Most Flexible Great Sounding System That I Think I ever Heard In A Car, But I ‘ll Still Prefer To Have an AUX input.

This system seriously lacks low end. High and mid range is good. Its definitely Fatiguing like others have said but the lack of low end takes away from it over all. Im Choosing the Bose Performance Series found in a Cadillac over this any day.

I feel like they should've put the volume know near where it was in the TLX. I think it'd be better since you don't have to reach as far but you could just use the steering wheel buttons.

I bought the Acura Integra and it has the ELS Studio 16 speakers. I don't think I hear anything from the top speakers.

I listened to this system last week at a TLX Type S but after listening to my regular B&W system in my Volvo XC90, I cannot get over it. It seems nothing comes close to the crispiness, clarity, and precision of B&W. I think it is a good system but a little too much base and mid ranges is definitely too high. I think i need to spend a little more time tuning this system to my ear.

Similar to Mark Levinson in Lexus which is owned by Harman Kardon. Inferior to Volvo B&W and Mercedes Burmeister.

I think honda needs to stop shafting their honda side of the lineup with infotainment/speakers. Wireless android auto is literally a update and aside from a few extra speakers on the acura lineup. I have a 21 cr-v and am disappointed in the fact it doesnt support wireless. I hope they make the jump to android automotive on the 2023 cr-v

Wife and I have moved on from Acura, bt her RDX with ELS Studio 3D Premium was one of the best car sound systems I have ever heard. Clean crisp, tight lows, very accurate. Too bad their interior design and infotainment system is such a huge turn off.

@@roboticvenom1935 the gv70 is close to the rdx, but it isn't quite there yet. The rdx's system is 4 years old and it held up pretty well

@@roboticvenom1935 the amount of time you’ve spent trolling all RDX reviews and promoting the GV70 and sometimes Mazda is…remarkable. Have only driven the Mazda, it’s ok, but it’s not at this level. The genesis might be great but dealing with what are usually Hyundai dealers with a Genesis sign out front, no thanks.

I call it BS. Mazda nowhere near the build quality of Acura as a car alone. They rust out in 3-5 years. My Acura with regular ELS 13 speaker system from 2017 is still running great with no rust

I'm about to pull the trigger on an RDX with the exact same specs and color combinations. To my ears, playing 5.1 FLAC files on the ELS sounded better than anything I listened to in a new Volvo S60 with the B&W system. The B&W does not support discrete surround and I think that system is tuned for the younger crowd that streams music and wants volume and bass above all else. It is very clear and powerful, but to me it's not immersive. The ELS is more for someone like me, I love to be surrounded by 5.1 audio mixed by a good engineer and that's the only type of music I listen to. No streaming or MP3s for me thanks. I also tested different Lexus vehicles all with ML systems (including an LS500) and they were all inferior to either the ELS or B&W.
