My 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO's spare tire chain was always an eye sore for me. I believe Toyota could have done a better job hiding that chain out of sight to provide a cleaner appearance in the rear. This is where I turn my Tundra into a grower not a shower.

Every few months or before you take a long trip I lower that spare tire and check the air pressure in the tire. Also check for dry rotting on your tire so your not caught on the road with a bad spare. 👍

Good idea but seems like a mess if you need use the spare in a pinch on a dangerous highway. I used a zip tie and zipped the chain to a hole in the rim. If I needed to drop the tire the weight would easily break the tie, but yet the tie is strong enough to hold the chain up

Zip ties definitely work well! I just wanted something I can reuse. Sometimes, those zip ties can be a pain to break. Also, I personally would never change my tire on the highway. Too many distracted drivers. I rather drive on rim to an exit and safely change it off the highway. Personally had a friend who was hit and passed away while changing his spare. Rather not take the chance

Just looks like a nightmare if ever need to drop that tire. I like those ties you used though. I guess that chain never bothered me when I had my 2022 TRD Pro. Interesting topic.

@@TristanGrimaldo I did a couple weeks ago. I'll be honest there were some things about the truck that were creeping up like wind noise from the moonroof and drivers side windows, cheap plastic pieces in the interior that already started to crack, awful high pitched humming noise coming from the hybrid regen braking system (which Toyota claims was normal), etc. Plus the truck just didn't want to turn!!! The first few months of ownership was great but the last few left a lot to be desired for me. For a $70K truck i wanted a bit more. I just lost the joy of driving it. Still was a cool truck but i started missing the '21 more and more. So i decided to go get my dream vehicle...a 2023 F150 Raptor. I am much happier now. No worries though...I'll still tune to your channel!
