The Honda cvt is actually a lot better than people give it credit for. I wish for a dct but the added fuel mileage of the cvt is a huge plus. Only issue is it’s a bit of a tough sell when the civic hatchback with cvt is as good as it is. Really would’ve liked to see Acura use their 4ws in these fwd integras

The base model Integra is actually very well equipped for most people. A local dealer will sell me one for MSRP.

Thanks for the exhaust thing. I really needed to laugh today. I love the way this car looks. I almost pulled the trigger on one. Especially the A.S w/ tech. But the Mrs was not going to have the MT. So it didn't make sense to spend that kind of $ for the CVT and no LSD. When comparing to the Civic ST to the base and A.S I felt I was loosing 20hp but gaining all the tech. For quite a bit less money. But dam is nice looking.

I agree Sam they are great looking vehicles but it looks like Honda is better overall value. I would buy one if they had a convertible but the cvt thing, I’m ok with just not an Integra or a WRX. Maybe in a few years down the road the cvt will grow on me 👍

OMG Sam, I’m currently in the same position and think I’m just going to go with the civic touring. Much better value and I’ll try not to think about missing out on the extra 20hp.

Acura could have used the 8DCT from previous gen ILX/TLX with the 1.5T. It would of been nice if Acura had the option of a de-tuned version of the 2.0T+10AT found in the Accord/RDX at around 225-250 hp. Then Acura could add sh-awd with the added power.

That is a great point but they took the Civic route, which isn’t a bad idea as that is a huge seller. More of a safe call but it would’ve been awesome to see any of those specs 👍

@@HawkeyeRides hopefully, Acura will up the performance and add sh-awd for the Integra Type-S. Pretty much a 6MT Civic Type-R wearing Integra clothing with sh-awd.

A DCT probably would have made it faster than the manual. That probably would have made the manual less special if they did that. I'm kinda glad they used the CVT for the automatic. Because I love manuals.

It’s kind of funny the automatic versus manual discussion is still alive and well. I was reading about the first automatic (hydramatic) transmission, developed in the 1930s as automakers wanted an option for driving that eliminated the need to shift gears. Guess the fact that we still have both in 2022 is proof people still want options.

Have seen a bunch of new owners reporting that the gps screen frequently freezes and is only fixed by restarting the engine, that is a HUGE problem. These large info screens have little benefit in the first place, now they don’t even function. I wish just one manufacturer would produce a model where the infotainment system was optional and could be removed. These screens do nothing but add cost and distraction.

The ILX is more fun because of the DCT but the comfort is better in this 👍.

@@DS..69 depending on what you are looking for. Speed yes, interior space the Integra, I would do a manual but the cvt doesn’t feel like Honda.

@@HawkeyeRides My manual rowing the gears days are long gone. I honestly think the ILX looks better, at least it doesn't look like it's cousin the Civic. The old Integra never looked like the Civics of the time.

They are both great vehicles but the Civic Sport Touring is about $10k cheaper with leather seating. Unfortunately the Si is only a sedan, that would be my reason for the Integra, more performance, sport exterior and the warranty. Thank you Jeffrey 👍

@@jeffrey3280 if you option the cvt it will not feel too much different but if you get a stick for the Integra your more engaged and it’s a few tenths quicker then the cvt. Because it’s around a second difference reaching 60 mph I would go with the Civic. If I want the manual then I would go for the Integra.

Really like the integra but for the acceleration performance. I think it’s just a touch too slow. New Prius is as fast in fwd and faster in AWD. I just can’t make peace w that.

I like the manual better than the cvt but the engagement is close as these new sticks drive like autos.

For a 2024 Integra w/tech, is 37-38K impossible to negotiate? OTD price. Dealers in my area have a ton in stock.

I have the manual version of this car and I can't imagine buying it with an automatic. It's a really nice car and it's unbelievably fun, but man, this car with an automatic is like loosing your erection before the climax. Still a nice a car but it's not fun any more, and it's now just another car that can't excite me anymore. ;-)

Why are you paying more money for it to be slower than the SI 😒😒. I recently bought this car & it’s cool but I still need more speed. Just feels like working twice as hard to barely keep up with other cars.
