Beautiful work, a real craftsman. You should be proud. I hope you read this, for I have wanted to mention something to you for a long time. During my working career, I owned and operated a Communications Motorola Shop. We worked for P.D., Sheriff, Fire Dept., Marine, also Amateur Radio, CB, etc. Being a Ham Radio Operator for 71 years now, I never really liked working on CB (and I think you know why, everything they did, was illegal), but being a business man, I knew that CB brought in more money that Amateur ever could. That being said, I guess that is what makes me appreciate your work. Whatever your feelings, or likes and dislikes, putting out the best and most professional work is an art, and you, are truly an artist.

Nice!!! Here I thought my home built 750 Amp 24V battery charger power supply was big but Damn! I would of done a few things differently, but It shows personality and how your brain works. It is a great design, and great utility. I really like the double bank so that it doesn't have to run balls out all the time. The superfan option is a nice touch. Great job Sir.

Hello Fellow Amphaulics, Friends, & Supporters of the World's Famous BBI AMPS: Thank you Luke for this end of the year ( part 1 ) video. I appreciate & understand your passion for your terrific work, knowledge, & experience for the radio hobby. When I first saw this piece of decadence I said to myself YOU MUST BE KIDDING !!!! IMHO there isn't 1 positive thing with this amp. Luke I understand you are talented but this POS isn't worth all the time & energy just to get it running. I would take out the transistors & scrap the rest. I'm surprised this thing didn't go up in flames. God Bless & my best to the family + HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE. TMP, Unit 22 from N.J.

All fun aside, great job man you’re a bad ass I’m sure enjoying all your videos. Keep up the good work, merry Christmas and happy New Year’s to you And your family, 73s

For those who dont know a "pill" in slang for transistor, namely the output transistors of a radio or external RF TX power amplifier unit. The term also includes MOSFETS used today and other similar devices used in solid state amplifiers. Tubes were referred to as "vacuum bulbs" or just plain ole "bulbs". IC's we called "slabs" now called "Chinesium Bricks"

I would build two concrete bunkers one for that unit with 500 feet the 2nd bunker where I would key that monster in case of an explosion. In other words I would have to be at least 500' from it when I keyed up on that unit while wearing a helmet and fire suit with goggles. Wow.

Someone explain to me the deal with the big power and these competitions. I was into CBs in the 80s. Couple fellows around here had some crazy power base stations but what are they doing at these big mobile competitions? Does this have anything to do with talking far or is it where they are just measuring how many watts a person can get out? How does one win?

Hey Luke, I’ve got a question for you. I built a 16 pill box about 10 years ago with 2879 red dots. I haven’t dug into it to find out how many I think I popped but if memory serves me it was only 1-2 of them. What should I source as a replacement and should I do 8? depending on what is available? New question I’ve recently seen these 50-54 volt pallet kits around with LDMOS are these for mobile use and if so how are the charging systems setup? Thanks for any help. Slingshot, Stockton.

It is not done because it a bad idea. It is not cost effective. Trying to build a daily driver that can power one is again not practical or cost effective. In this day and age many alternative technologies would be better for mobile use than 96 big bipolars! On top of that some one stole all the valuable Toshiba's out of the box and put in a bunch og HG's! Someone made a fortune gutting that for it's Toshiba's! Some of them look like all of the legs are not soldered down all the way. Some of that looks to plumbers solder on top of that. Those coax runs are absolutely buba work at best. You are definetly going to earn every dollar you charge the owner and many times more! That looks like it is going to be one really tough job you got there Luke! Even before I finish this I am only a bit over 9 minutes in I know you will fix it no problem that is just who you are. Have the Vape handy, turn the phone off, put on some good music! I would want to have some adult beverages handy for a job like that to keep me from getting too frustrated!
