The resistance of the tube over the capacitance of the tube divided by the frequency dictates the inductor in "u H" length....

@@BoxBuilderIdaho I have been looking for that info for some time. I can't remember the other video you posted maybe the 3 tube 3-500z u checked circuit by putting in resistors to simulate the tubes in action. But I didn't remember hearing u say that it affects the tank coil length. Maybe u did. But from what I remember from that video and this video it finally clicked on how to actually use my nano VNA to tune the coil to find the most resonant uH. I sat there for only about 10 minutes squeezing and spreading the tank coil till I got my 1.01 SWR and 50 ohm it should be. I've spent days adding jumpers and removing jumpers, adding turns and removing turns trying to figure out what was the best combination for most power. Maybe make a video like the bias flop video for us lemmings who are trying to pick through the knowledge you're giving. Trying to piece it together. I can literally say my learning curve on RF the last two years It has been like learning Chinese from watching nothing but Chinese movies on TV. Same videos over and over and over back and forth until this or that little bit makes sense to the point I can use the info. Thanks again I called you some time ago with a low power output issue. U recommended bias. Didn't end up being the issue. It was a collection of issues but the biggest one was the filament choke was causing too much voltage drop. Only giving the tubes 4.5 vdc. It was a hand made one someone made using too small of wire and it was overheating and loosing voltage. Your bias video showed me the voltage it was supposed to be. And I figured I'd try to remedy that and boom now I'm getting 2,500w out from 250 watts of drive.

The ALS 500m is a great little solid state box the problem is the Toshiba transistors are no longer available for that amp and that is what made the device so bulletproof over the years. I've done several videos with this amplifier where we can upgrade the plug and we can upgrade to power wire and we can upgrade the wire inside the piece of equipment and it makes it work a little bit better.

I use the company that manufactured it siglent, bird, coaxial Dynamics, fluke. My Spectrum analyzer and my oscilloscope aren't old enough for recertification yet they will be coming up next year. And all of my elements that I use for measurement are within 5 years old and do not need to be recalibrated either.. For now. I do believe that happens sometime next year I'll have to check my shop notes very good question though. thank you for asking it. I have working relationships with all of the companies and they helped me out in any way I need.
