I know the video is compiled in a way that reminds us that even with a loss, there is always hope, but with the tragedies and loss of that year being that severe, I can't help but feel a bit hopeless.

School really makes a difference how I perceive the year. My Social Studies teacher from last year talked about the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey. That feels like 2022, but it was 2023. I can't believe it, really.

as emotional as these yearly videos get me, they also make me have a moment of realization that my life is nowhere near as bad as so many others in this world, quite honestly i am privileged. i think its important to watch these for that reason. not only as an eye opener, but to remind those of us who are privileged, that we shouldn't take it for granted.
