⭐KAWASAKI W800 vs. TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE:
As many have pointed out, I was wrong to suggest that the W800 is a 'ripoff' of the Bonneville. In fact the Kawasaki W series were produced from 1967 to 1975, and were based on the British BSA A7. Hey, I'm learning!! Cheers for the knowledge-spread!

Thank you Peter. I appreciate your filming and your commentary of a super large bike show. Good thing you have the press pass because It already looked very crowded (at least to me). So many to choose from but I always seem to go back to Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha. The Royal Enfield also super nice as are the Triumphs. I love the old school or classic styling of the standard naked bike. That Cake bike was out there and certainly not a copy.

I rented an XSR 900 in Hachinohe and rode to Hokkaido. That's what made me fall in love with the engine. That bike is great for overnighters/shorter trips. I wanted something geared a bit more toward touring so I picked up a Tracer 9GT last year. Great bikes!

This is Dale from Alaska. Loved the editing and presentation. Seeing that CAKE E-Bike from Sweden brought back memories of the trail bike I used to ride on my Uncle's ranch in Nevada back in the 60s. It was either a Tote Goat or a Tote Goat knock off designed for getting anywhere. The tires were the suspension and it had a squared single tubed frame shaped like that on the CAKE. Definitely minimalistic though I am not sure if that word had yet been invented. :) Looking forward to your "test drive" of the CAKE.

I owned a Kawasaki Commander 650 W2TT predecessor to the 800. Kawasaki took the engine design from BSA not Triumph. Great video. New subscriber.

Great video, thanks for taking us there. I missed it this year as it was just to expensive to travel into Tokyo. As for the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde they are an exhaust company that makes the first smart exhaust for sound control…or not.

Good to know! Yeah the exhaust 'noise' here is an issue in that you have to pass vehicle inspection every 2 years which means swapping out the stock exhaust before the test then putting the fun exhaust back on.

Yeah it’s a good smart system. And it has to be put on by an authorized dealer so that it falls under the manufacturer 2year warranty. That also means it meets the Japanese noise regulations.
